The Liz McGrath & Miss Mindy are insane. For me both were the jewels of the show.
Thanks for the outstanding coverage!

What a pleasant surprise that Audrey included an original piece for each attendee.

Wow. Thank you so much for the great coverage!! Looks amazing - congrats to the lucky few who attended. I would just like to repeat this sentiment. As something that I will realistically probably never be able to afford to attend, I really enjoy seeing all the pictures and getting a sense of what the event is like, as well as all the amazing art the attendees get to take home with them!

As something that I will realistically probably never be able to afford to attend, I really enjoy seeing all the pictures and getting a sense of what the event is like, as well as all the amazing art the attendees get to take home with them! This was a great event, worth every penny if you take into account just the goodies that we got and the opportunity to buy the exclusive editions or OG's for sale. (post mine later...) Greenhorn, totally understand what you are saying. Finances can be tough, but just to let anyone who may be interested in attending, they have officially announced (at the event) that if people sign up before the end of October, they can bring a free companion! (I think they charged $500 for the last two years.) Also early sign-ups gets a discount of $1800 (I think) as opposed to paying full price ($2500). I think we should get a list of board members who are planning to attend next year and maybe we can help make this a little less cost prohibitive by taking advantage of the deals they have for early birds/peeps who split the costs. So instead of 3k for two to attend it could be less than $900 per person. So, I'll kick off the list... I'm going if anyone is interested in attending next year and splitting some of the cost PM me.

FYI: the $1800 deal is probably for return guests only. and if you do split the cost there is a matter of splitting up the goodies as well....

FYI: the $1800 deal is probably for return guests only. and if you do split the cost there is a matter of splitting up the goodies as well.... Yup, that's the perk of a returning guest, the $700 discount and the fact they can get a guest in free if they sign up soon. Hopefully a few more peeps on artchival that went are coming back, then we can get a few more newbies (to BT) in at a cheap rate. Once they come as a companion, they are eligible for the return rate. I went with Sleepboy, so I got the return rate for this year's BT. I personally didn't love everything in my goodie bag, just a few items I wanted to keep. Besides, the opportunity to buy some BT exclusives (prints, OG's paintings & drawings, toys) balanced out some of my opportunity cost of going.

yah. You probably won't like everything in your goodie bag unless you really like all of the artists. But thats a good thing. There is a variety of artists that are there.
even some of the artists i liked, i wasn't too thrilled with their contribution to the goodie bag. but something is better than nothing. plus it totally is worth it to hang out with the artists and get personal sketches from them.

It was a fantastic experience. By any chance does anyone know what blogs covered this event? I lost the cards given to me due to our room being the debauchery room.

You mean the "Duet" cards that were sponsored by Arrested Motion We covered the event, you can find all related articles under this tag: arrestedmotion.com/tag/bt-09/Also, I know that people from Daily Dujour, Boing Boing, Juxtapoz, Sketch Theatre and Hi-Fructose were there...

A sneak peek at some of the little drawings Travis is doing for the attendees: "Undergrounder" this one ended up in my bag. I had such a good time. After three years of being a sponsor i couldn't resist buying a ticket to get the full bag. So much great stuff in there. Every artist attending was so damn so friendly as usual. Bob and the Baby Tattooville crew really put on a great event, i can not wait till next year.

Sarah! If you're who I think you are, I have a pics of you and Audrey. Glad you had a good time and the hotel didn't freak out on how many peeps were in your room after the first night. I wonder where everyone would have partied if they shut down your room...

this year's gift bag was definitely worth more than the price of admission. the hotel was to die for and tio's tacos was a riot. and the vegas buffet for sunday brunch is just the icing on the cake.
i've definitely felt the pain of trying to get back into normal life.

It's was pretty ridiculous - I don't think we got to bed earlier than 10am and we almost got thrown out a couple of times. You know it's out of control when I'm the one left being the voice of reason --- shhhhhh'ing the group into low decibel submission. I'm usually the one with the lampshade on. Thanks to everyone that came by and hung out at the Hussar Picnic. Especially those of you that got naked. Pics coming soon - huzzah! sounds like a good time was had.... nice to hear that the party stories are starting to come out! lets see some 'not for blog' type pictures on here! put me down on your list tan.... sounds like something i shouldn't miss next year. so, if you are a 'companion' do you get the goodie bag stuff or not? anyone know when the 2010 artist list is being compiled? sounds like a good gig, but i think i'd want to know who is attending before i commit.... out of interest has anyone been all 3 years? i wonder how the event has developed over time... great stuff on am by the way guys

What am I still doing up at 3am...? Guess I'm still on Baby Tattooville party time. Damn you Phil... (I got some pics for you too.)
Sven, got plenty of party (not safe for AM pics) here. Show you next time you fly to the US or vice versa. If you want to come you can be my date! But companions don't get a bag so we have to share pumpkin... night!

So I want to go back and I don't mind not getting a goodie bag... because I was still able to pick up some nice stuff at the store... I had a blast as a companion this year and probably will next year... I was so sleep-deprived, though... so next time I have to rest up before and take some days off after... Hussar and Warner know how to throw a party...

hopefully i will have a companion to bring down next year, but if not then someone can go with me as long as they don't want any of the goodies in the bag. who is who on this thing though. I can't who you are with the board names. I think Sarah Taylor has been there 3 years in a row if its the right Sarah Taylor.
By the way - i'm Andrew Wong (I wore a blue hat the whole time)
