Witht his section seeming to be lacking posts I figured i would see where everyone likes to eat.
personally I just went to dinner at Ruth's Chris with the parents ( god love them ) and I have to say everytime they come in town we go once or twice and it is by far my favorite place.
A close second would a place called home which has chef Richard Blais from Top Chef in the kitchen.

In Hollywood, my favorite place to eat is Taylor's Prime Steaks, an old-school place that's been around since 1953. You can envision the Rat Pack sitting in those red leather booths beneath the oils of reclining nudes, men of war battling and Indian braves rampaging over the prairie. The steaks are excellent and reasonably priced, and you must go there to eat steak – the only vegetable "option" is creamed spinach. Excellent martinis, too. I also love Nancy Silverton and Mario Batali's gourmet Pizzeria Mozza, though it's fairly impossible to get a table there most of the time, as it's not very big and extremely popular. If you do get in, try the pizza with funghi misti, fontina, taleggio and thyme – it's mind-blowing. For casual drinking and bar food, I recommend O-Bar, which does a mean Ahi Tuna Tartare and has the tastiest chicken strips I've ever encountered. Their comprehensive mojito menu doesn't hurt, either. (I recommend the Porch Swing.) You can also sit down and dine if you so wish, and all their food is excellent. Best greasy-spoon hangover breakfast in Hell-A is downtown at the Pantry Cafe, which has been open 24 hours a day every day since it opened in 1924. Their service is lightning-fast, the waiters are real characters, the amenities are basic and the lady in the cage will only take cash. Big chunks of fresh sourdough toast slathered with butter and tasty hash browned potatoes will soak up the poisons in your gut as you ponder the meaning of your wasted life. That's about it, as my favorite sushi and Mediterranean places have closed shop.

The hands down best Chinese in LA and possibly even...THE WORLD is Hunan Cafe located at Sunset and Laurel. It's a total hole in the wall and if the food wasn't great enough...she is the sushi nazi equivalent in Chinese food. I have seen her kick out numerous people for asking certain questions or trying to customize their order. But if you go a few times(I've been going for 5+ years now) then she becomes a sweetheart...even got me a Christmas gift this past year. If anyone is in LA and wants to dine on Chinese let me know...chances are if it's during the week I will be there.

Vegas: Grimaldi's Pizzeria (I believe the original is in NY) is the best pizza in town WHAT?!?! That is SO wrong! Once again, Vegas attempting to import the best of all things not endemic to that god forsaken desert. At least they go for The Best..and I can't really blame them. Grimaldi's is arguably the best pizza joint in all of the 5 boroughs of NYC...and then almost by default the greatest pizza on the East Coast and in the entire US. Luckily, there's great pizza to be had in Philly (Lazaro's at 18th and South is my personal fav and Santuccis producing a great square pie, and with Franzon's in Conshocken and Phil's from my neck of the woods in Brerwyn taking the Suburban cake). Ironically, my buddy went up to NYC to see the Sox/Yanks game and was planning on going way out of his way, back and forth over multiple bridges, just to hit up Brooklyn for a Grimaldi's pie. Where exactly is this place in Vegas? My folks have a place in Lake Las Vegas, so I'm there out there every so often and would definitely recommend it to them if it's anything like the original, which I fear it's not. Sorry, I eat pizza at least a slice of pie literally 6 out of 7 days in a week. My absolute favorite thing in the world! Have you ever been to the Waffle House (not the southern chain) out in Henderson? One of the better breakfast joints I've ever been to. Like all things in Vegas area, they've got the most enormous portions.

If your looking for a great Northern Indian restaurant in Los Angeles, "East Indian Grill" on La Brea is superb. The saagwala Paneer and Lamb Ginger stir fry are great Choices.
