1. Post pictures of your top 3 acquisitions this year. Tom Neely : Good Riddance Drew Millward : Monolith Nimit Malavia : Daymares And Night Stallions Hope I haven't cursed that being as it won't be in hand until December ! 2. Best experiences? Dealing with Black Maria Gallery , praise the lord for patron programs . Finally trying to get some original pieces by artists I like, rather than a stack of prints that don't get framed soon enough . 3. Biggest disappointments? Being out the country or unable to get to some shows I'd of liked to. Sylvia Ji at Stolen Space for example . 4. Who are your rising stars? John Dyer Baizley , Eric Fortune , Brian Despain , Nimit Malavia , Michael Ryan 5. Best show of the year? Not that I was there but the work in James Jean "Kindling" was phenomenal .

Top three acquistions of the yearMartin Wittfooth "Blind Curiosity" Martin Wittfooth "Supertime in the sky" Martin Wittfooth "The Blind Fisherman" Best experiences? My one year anniversary gift from my wife (The second painting above). There was also the unexpected surprise of being paid back in full (a deposit) from a long closed/defunct gallery. Biggest disappointments?Nothing really. Who are your rising stars?I guess Martin Wittfooth for this year and his upcoming 2010 Copro show. Best show of the year?Haven't seen anything compare to James Jeans exhibit at Jonathan Levine.

The commission I had hoped to post won't be finished until after the New Year so I'll be posting it in 2010. 1. Post pictures of your top 3 acquisitions this year. In no particular order: 2. Best experiences? Purchasing my Matzu from Liner. 3. Biggest disappointments? I received a piece in such terrible condition that I couldn't believe the gallery had the nerve to even package it up and send it to me. Having most of my collection in storage for almost 6 months. 4. Who are your rising stars? Kelsey, Matzu, Sandberg, and Tat Ito. 5. Best show of the year? I loved the Clayton Brothers show at Patrick Painter and felt that Kelsey Brookes really delivered for his show at Quint Contemporary.

The Kelsey Brookes is incredible ! I'd love to have been able to get something from that show .
There was a one off embellished Mermaid print at POW on the first day opening of the store . The price was POA and I didn't even bother asking . . . Oh well .

1)Borf - Augeries of Innocence. Tthis is hanging now but I have no up to date photos, sorry. I reckon it's the best example of borf's ongoing struggles with youth gone wild and his fight to obliterate the bad stuff: Antonio Diaz triptych (title TBC once he comes up with a new one): finally, it's a toss up between a pair of Conor harrington drawings currently at the framers or this wonderful votive monkey from Kirsty Whiten: 2) Best experiences? Probably the FAME festival as I had a fantastic journey to a fantastic event. 3) Biggest disappointments? I could list a whole bunch of artists here who's entire output continues to dismay me but haven't the time nor energy. Other than those, it has to be being charged $855 for the shipping of my two jux charity pieces. I'll not be bidding at the next one. 4) Who are your rising stars? No comment. 5) Best show of the year? FAME again. By a country mile as it was about so much more than a gallery full of art to be sold. Although the Os Gemeos museum show looked stupendous.. Love those Wittfooths brobt. Someone was selling a fantastic piece which featured a bear headed deer (I think?) and cat headed snail (again, I think) earlier this year which I regret passing on as it was very fine indeed..

Certain art purchases didn't finalize until the last minute so I had to wait til the year was completely over. (then got caught up in vacay mode.) No Particular order... "Yuu Waku" by Audrey Kawasaki "Batter" by James Jean "Screaming for the Sunrise" by Yoskay Yamamoto Art Basel bonus: "Wonderful" by Hideaki Kawashima 2) Best experiences? Getting together with the AM crew and artists at both Baby Tattooville and Art Basel Miami. 3) Biggest disappointments? Passing on this gorgeous Nicoletta Ceccoli only to change my mind a day later and find out it was sold to some other lucky person. (But it was Nothing compared to my disappointment already experienced this year... ) 4) Who are your rising stars? Tat Ito and Matsu. 5) Best show of the year which I attended (in person)? Audrey Kawasaki (JLG), Shepard Fairey Retrospective (ICA), Banksy Exhibition (Bristol), James Jean (JLG) - all tied
