Was pretty much everything except for a few of the more expensive pieces sold? Love the KMNDZ but not the $14,000 price tag.

If you like Johnny Rodriguez aka KMNDZ's work, you should check with Thinkspace Gallery as they show him and you can get very nice smaller pieces for considerably less. Good hunting.

thanks for posting the pics Hung-Hei.
great opening last night. congratulations to all involved as a lot of hard work went into this exhibition and it shows. Jan and Richard deserve special congratulations.
Stilkey's book installation was fabulous, a real visual treat.
great to see that people travelled a long way to be part of this show, and it was nice to see a bunch of artchival folk there too. we're back there this afternoon for my daughter to bug the giant toby and hot cha-cha again.

I really appreciated the opportunity to attend last night and had a great time. It was an awesome show. Met some really nice people and stayed to the end.
I had to keep going back to the gallery to look at the pieces, once wasn't enough.
I was particularly taken by the Ray Caesar pieces.
The organisers did a top notch job and I'm very grateful.
Had to go back home early this morning but I'm going to see if I can get the family back at a later date.

Nice to meet you there planetzog. Did you end up buying anything?

Hi Svenman It was pleasure to meet you and your daughter and put a face to the one of the most informed contributors on this forum.
I was tempted by the Travis Louie. I had to give my wife a call before I did anything rash. I think I was just so hyped by the event I needed to step away and give it some thought.
I will also be in a better position come the end of the year.
So in answer to your question I didn't buy anything last night but it has given me the enthusiasm and determination to own an original piece.

oh man, last night was so good. I had a killer time. I was really impressed by the quality of the event, the pieces on show, and the turn out as well. I was able to meet some dope people & artists that I never thought I would get to conversate with. Dave Stoupakis was especially cool and very approachable, as was Sylvia Ji and many of the other great artist I got to speak to. Jan and Richard were also super nice. It was amazing to see a Ryden in the flesh, and the MIA piece was awsome to behold. From seeing that piece, I dont think internet pictures do her work justice it. Lets not forget the Melissa Forman piece! I wanted that so bad! I could go on all day about the work on display. All in all I feel privaleged to have been able to attend the opening, the only problem is that being at this event has only fuled my already uncontrolable addiction to buy more stuff oh well, broke land here I come

Well that was amazing!!! I absolutely loved the show, couldn't get the smile off my face from the second i got there. Gutted i couldn't get to the Stilckey sculpture, but was absolutely chuffed to bits to see Ape Allegory and Ryden's Fur Girl in the flesh. Ape Allegory is just mind blowingly good. I sat looking at it for a good half an hour, it's MASSIVE!!! Great to meet up with Bluecat, Sven and and the new 'Arrested Motion photographer to be' Amelie The Sylvia Ji, Coop and Kent Williams pieces were my favourites, plus now I've seen Travis's work in the flesh I've got to have one Right, back too sleep for an afternoon nap! I've just about recovered after an evil organic cider induced hangover, nearly getting chucked out for trying to take pics of Dita, 14hrs of driving and a run-in with an australian paramedic! But a great night and well, well worth the effort. It's funny, now I'm home I want to go back down again. A bit like leaving someone at the airport thinking you'll never see them again. Luke Coop Schorr A girl on a horse!

Was a hell of an opening night, and a great display of art from artists that we see little of in the UK. Well done to all involved.
Best piece for me, by a country mile, was the Korin Fraught but I'd not kick the Wittforth or Kinsey out of the house either.
Cool to meet a couple of you folks too.

the shadows and textures on korin's piece were quite wonderful. i'd been watching her work for a little while, but seeing this piece made me certain that i'd like to own one of her pieces one day. i was very impressed by the david stoupakis piece too. gretchen ryan's piece was very strong and the chris anthony had great placement and dominated one end of the gallery. powerful piece of work. mike stilkey's book installation was quite magnificent. i'd been wanting to see one of his installations for a while and this didn't disappoint. i'm looking forward to seeing what he does for his upcoming hurley show. 10,000 books in that one. godamm! i think my daughter enjoyed the weekend as much as i did. i know what you guys are saying here too... was more than just an opening - definitely an event and it was cool to see droow, gilsteph, planetzog, Mike, grit, bluecat, and yolao plus a whole bunch of other good folks all making the trip down. we grabbed some cool sketches on saturday at the signing too, and my daughter did a bit of signing of her own and gave natalia a new tattoo!
