I gave up on it after the 2nd-3rd series. They should have stopped when the had first intended. Am I right that the whole thing with the numbers was never explained? Anyone watching Breaking Bad! yeah same here, abandoned the show the minute i heard they'd been commissioned for another 4 seasons or whatever it was. plus was gutted they killed off mr eko. breaking bad is the best thing on tv right now imo, cant get enough of it

Finally raided the DVR and watched the last 4 episodes. Resisted giving my comment and gave myself some time to soak it all it. I went from liking it to disliking it after figuring out some loose ends.
Some loose ends that bigstrunso helped enlighten me on. Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering why Whitmore, Faraday, Michael, etc. was missing from the church. Now I'm back to appreciating the ending again.
Honestly, I went into it with impending dread that the last episode was going to suck. It's very hard to ever live up to expectations that build up over 6 years. Despite the odds, I think they did a very good job. Kudos to the writers.

I agree with all you said, i just needed time to understand and let it all sink in. Bigstrunso post helped so much.

Any thoughts on the extra footage on the DVD set. I'm too cheap to buy it.

The Hurley/Ben footage is about 5 min long, it answers a handful more questions that viewers had and it amusing but it's something you can find online in probably 50 seconds or so. I have watched 2 of the 4 or so documentaries included as well. For me it’s worth it because I have all the other seasons on dvd and it was one of my all time favorite shows but if you aren’t trying to complete the collection or anything it might not be worth it or you can always grab is used a couple months down the line for dirt cheap I am sure.

I loved the storytelling and the character development that occurred throughout the show's run. I did enjoy many of the reunions (Juliet and Sawyer were a highlight). Some of the episodes were genuinely captivating and "fresh".
However, I was still a bit disappointed by the end and thought it was a cop-out. Not much was explained or made more sense than what was explained to us in the beginning of the last season. I didn't keep my hopes too high with the limited amount of episodes left, but I was still hoping for more or something else.

Yah, I thought it was a copout as well. I was disappointed more answers weren't given, but even more upset because I felt manipulated by the final season. For example, why make it seem like Desmond was so crucial and had some extra knowledge about something when he didn't. Why go through the whole Daniel thing where he seemed to remember something about a bomb in the previous life but then not followup on that? I felt they just threw things like the in to make it stir things up...
That said, I'll try and buy them used. Good idea!
