 ROA is having 2 events in Stockholm scheduled for this weekend. On 17th he's revealing "Defragmentation", a big mural/instalation @ secret location, and on the 18th he's opening "Fragments", a mini show, instalation & book show @ the Scarlett Gallery. visit Arrested Motion for more WIP photos... |

May have sell some stuff and get something I really like the Calf and Lepus pieces, but they are too rich for me @ the moment... Im a big fan of his work (as you can tell), but can't help thinking the prices are a bit pumped up... in last couple of shows he had, there were 2-3 pieces I was seriously considering, but wasn't quick enough.. than again, if the works are selling @ those prices, I guess I should keep my mouth shut..  |

I just went today and had a private viewing of the two part show in Stockholm. I am honestly blown away with the show on such a unique show. This body of work really let ROA showcase many aspects of his work fabulously despite multiple obstacles and difficulties with having a show like this in Stockholm. There are so many nuances that really impressed me both by Roa and the gallery, that added to the show that you can't get from photos and coverage particularly the response of the locals that just pop in and are awe struck. During my viewing I think I heard him turn away probably 10 people, and let in a group of school children that were absolutely amazed. The debate between art and vandalism couldn't be more alive here and the cultural importance of this show is nothing short of a revolution. Really just blown away from all the work put in by Roa and his 5 weeks here. His perseverance and determination really came through in my honest opinion.
By the way anyone with a decent budget looking to add a fantastic Roa, contact the gallery, fantastic bunch of guys. And really some great additions to the original preview, particularly the chessboard rat. Caught up in the moment and I forgot to snap a picture.

I would love a sketch !.. I dont think il ever own a house big enough to do one of the paintings justice. Met him at Moniker 2 years ago and he was a genuinly nice guy... good luck to him.
