Lukes ode to Montry Python was one of the best pieces in CFC2. I really hope that one becomes a print. No Honey Bear print.... yet. They said a it'd be a few more months for that. The Donnie Darko print is great, a little smaller than I had hoped, but awesome none the less.

thanks... i enjoyed reading that interview. oh and for those who didn't see this in the email copro sent out, here is his piece for the BLAB show. it's a series of eight 6 x 6 paintings i believe. pretty cool, never seen Luke do this before. it's on paper though and at $7K I had to pass even though i might have bitten if it was at a later time. too many damn shows recently.

I am perplexed......don't know if it is the image or something else but I see this as a step backwards in his artistic career...for all i know this may not be even him

Well, Folie à deux is actually the name of Fall Out Boy's upcoming release so it's a legit album. It certainly looks like Luke's work. The title means (literally, "a madness shared by two") is a rare psychiatric syndrome in which a symptom of psychosis (particularly a paranoid or delusional belief) is transmitted from one individual to another. So the image seems to make sense...
I'll reserve judgement until I see it with better resolution but I'm happy that Luke is working on bigger projects if it's true.

I can't say I agree with your assessment of this piece. I happen to think the composition of it is beautiful and I love the tone and fade of the red background. It really goes with the album title and evokes a visceral response. The bears definitely look different than what we are used to from Luke but seeing as it is an album and a different medium in a sense, I find it really exciting. Furthermore, I am excited and proud of Luke for the doors this endeavor will open for him and look forward to watching him reap the benefits. I am perplexed......don't know if it is the image or something else but I see this as a step backwards in his artistic career...for all i know this may not be even him

I saw this over at the KR forums www.gelaskins.com/artist.php?Artist=128I noticed a lot of artists sell the gelaskins for phones, pcs and stuff. Luke is one of the few artists that is selling open run prints there. KO, BP, Craola - none of those guys sell prints thru them just gelaskins. I hope he doesnt reprint any of the ones I own. Any opinions? I'd like to hear what you guys have to say about this one.

i think open editions are a great way to satiate the fans that want images from an artist on their walls. they are not signed, numbered or limted editions, and are therfore not coveted by collectors - but each to their own. its not a new thing to produce open editions - there are many other publishers of open edition prints that feature 'scene' artists. www.thumbtackpress.com/browse/ springs to mind. if want want an image, buy an open edition. if you want limted edition, chase it down - or regularly excercise your f5 finger
