Anyone else feel as if Luke's pieces are losing their appeal a bit? Don't get me wrong, not knocking him a bit. He's a wonderful artist IMO. But for some strange reason i don't get as excited about new pieces/prints of his coming out as i used to.

Well he's come out with a few prints recently that i haven't been personally a fan of but this piece is probably a year and a half old and I've been waiting for a while for this one to be a print so I'm happy

It was at the "Dog and Pony Show" at Copro. Originally, they had forgotten to put the dot on it and got me excited.

I kinda wish it would be 'Disintegration', but do not see the point of Luke doing a paper version. Would be nice to have a 'Southpaw' image though.

I no alot of people have hated on the new toy but I like the explanation for it on his myspace page. Power Rabbotto, my second contribution to Kaiju for Grown Ups is inspired by the Power Rangers leg of Kaiju culture. I have a feeling some people might argue that Power Rangers aren't Kaiju, to which I would argue that the Rangers are an integral part of the kaiju narrative. Power Rangers, Ultraman, and Kamen Rider were the "ying" to the rubberized kaiju/monster's "yang". And if you ask me, a "human" that has the strength to destroy a super mutant monster, coupled with the fact that some of these guys had ability to grow over 80 stories tall (at will), qualifies them as being "strange beasts" or "monsters" to me. I designed Rabbotto to emulate the the original 70's era Power Ranger toys from Japan. The blockish gap in the crotch, coupled with the angular shapes in the costume typify what I was going for, and are celebrated in my final design. I also chose the Power Ranger format is because it legitimizes the colorway thing. There will be at least five different colorways because there's five different members in the Power Rangers team. Anyways, Power Rabbotto will be hitting the shops soon. I hope you find the series to be as fun and as funny as I do. Domo Arigato!
