Pretty nice but the face is not that attractive to me. I like the concept. So $10,000 does not reach reserve huh? I know he's expensive but this expensive???

It's the drawing for his painting "Sophia's Mercurial Waters" And yes he's that expensive but I don't think it should go for much more than $15,000.(IMO)

And the seller has a zero feedback rating.

And only $200 in buyer protection So what is the best way to purchase something that costs that much? I've only bought through galleries. I know a bunch of you buy and trade with people all the time. What's the best way to go about it without getting ripped off?

There is www.escrow.com, which is ebay's approved escrow service. They hold the money from the seller, who gets the payment from them once the buyer has received the item. If I was in the position to buy such an expensive piece, I would never ever send such a high amount directly to the seller - especially if he has zero feedback. Seems just totally crazy to me. I just read a little up on this...to be prepared for the highly unlikely occasion I might use their service

the most I've paid through ebay before was about $1250, but that was to a seller I knew from the boards to be totally legit

It's good to know about escrow.com. There have been things I wanted to buy but decided not to for the exact reasons above (Zero feedback, Low buyer protection). The most I've spent was $1,500 on Ryden's Creatrix print.

I think it would be a good idea to ask a seller of a high-priced item on ebay before bidding on this item if he accepts this kind of service (and if he doesn't it would seem fishy). There is a small fee for the buyer (between 1 and 2%) but when one is willing to buy such an item it should not bother to much.
Does anyone actually have any experience with escrow.com?

Reserve not met. I actually like the drawing more than the painting for some reason.
