I can't watch the vid in the U.K , is Stephen Colbert a Vegan or a hypocrite ? As brutal as Bullfighting is I think people should put their money where their mouth is when it comes to down to it . |

I don't think you have to be a vegan to be critical of bullfighting. I think there is a difference between killing animals for food and torturing them for entertainment. Just my .02 worth.

How about wearing them ?
My point is that the vast majority of animals we eat have a much worse quality of life and death than the bulls in a ring. They never get a chance to gouge their tormentors .
It's just because they are out of sight for the most part they are out of mind .
Don't get me wrong I think the exploitation of a living creature for entertainment is as vulgar as it gets. I get annoyed that more thought isn't put into pointing the finger at the mirror . There are a myriad of other examples of cruelty that are overlooked because they are behind the scenes and often too convenient to consider .

these are all good points. i've been thinking similar thoughts somewhat in regards to the gulf oil spill....how it isn't just BP's fault but rather the guilt belongs to all of us who haven't broken free of an oil-centric life. but i digress...  which way is the cat spinning in the picture below? are you sure?  originally created by Pech Misfortune |
