This was a commission for Kelly Osbourne... Uhh...thats a painting from 1994  A quick Google has her being gifted this image from Ozzy and Sharon for xmas. But I highly doubt they were able to pry the OG from its owner - its more likely they were able to hunt down one of the few giclees that were printed by Blue at Art Works Fine Art Publishing before Mattel threatened copyright infringement. I have a copy (and a Princess Sputnik) printed by Blue - they are beautiful editions indeed. Jim |

Is anyone else excited for the upcoming show at Michael Kohn Gallery?  It has been listed on his website for a while now but it seems like the date keeps getting pushed back though! Now listed as May 2012. Now it's listed as Summer 2012! hahaha. No matter how many times the date is pushed back, I am still excited to see a collection of new paintings in person. |

No doubt it was a lot of work creating these (see making of images below). But it for 5k I would like to see a little more artist participation in the making of, thus I will pass! But based on past releases, if you like the final product it's prob. a real good deal for how complex these are (and the very limited qty)... I thought so too. They will definitely sell, but they are not my cup of tea. I like that he is doing screenprinted items these days, but it seems that for 5k you won't get more artist participation than a signature. |

These have been on sale for nearly a month and a half. They're awesome looking, but not my cup of tea either, compared to what sort of other things 5k of an art budget can put on the walls.

i think these are quite remarkable.
i'd love to get one, and i don't think that 5k is an unreasonable price for this at all.
i only got the email today though, rather than a month ago... what's the story there?

I got the email today also. I think for a Ryden collector these are priced fine. I'm desperately trying to resist any art purchases until March, otherwise I'd be really tempted to get one of these.

-the craftsmanship on these look incredible... and at 5k for a total of 23 I almost wish I got the email. I have bought several Ryden prints in the past, but nothing recent (past 3 years or so) On the flip side, I have already over spent for 2012 and we are only 3+weeks in....
lol ! -trying to put the breaks on now!!!! ec

love this thing too. simply can't justify the price, and not even because of the lack of artist participation. more because of the insane margins that must be had. def a bit labor intensive, but wood and labor don't equate to costing even a grand to produce imo. could be way off. but just seems a little too pricey..which might very well be reinforced by the fact that these had apparently been offered to his most preferred and dedicated collectors a month ago and didn't even sellout. all that aside, still very tempting. thing is badass.

Jim yeah i mentioned that the owner whose name is listed in the wonder toonel catalog wouldnt do the same, on the Ryden facebook page. No date has been announced for the trade edition, but it will definitely be released in a smaller and less elaborate version.
