If her dreams are any indication, her paintings might become more interesting or freaky (depends how you look at it). She's been posting some dreams on her japanese blog...
...7-27-08 sun... ~a crowd of people out in the ashy streets. some of us can jump high. high enough to see the metropolis in the sky. nightscape. glistening multicolors of light. ~yellow structure with stairs on either sides. waiting to open. asking the security man. ~collect brown rice from friends. washing it. picking out 4 eyes of an unknown reptile like creature out of the rice. the size of marbles. first two i pick them out with my hands and the second two with a white spoon.
...7-28-08 mon... ~a peculiar photo. in this photo a child repeatedly visible in the windows and doorway, in different poses and size. like a ghost photo. he wears white and a baby blue belt and a hat. i am frightened by one of the faces. i wake up. ~i am a teenager. a boy, two years younger than i, wants to fool around under the blanket at some sort of a gathering. there are adults walking around on supervision. so i dont let him, and he doesnt understand, and gets angry and starts to ignores me. we drive on the highway with friends. witness several bad accidents in front and behind us. we arrive at a cheap falafel restaurant that the boy's mother owns. we begin to talk again. and fold clothes and sheets together.
...7-29-08 tues... ~an old friend comes to visit me by surprise. he brings a yellow post-it pillow case with japanese hand writing he attempted. ~back in school. highschool friends. two girls. a couple. they own a purple pig. one girl brings home a purple candle that matches this purple pig. and they giggle because the pig sleeps in their bed together, and this matching candle will be placed besides their bed when they make love. ~the girls also own two black goats. i ask them what their personalities are like. one of the girls start to talk about how much water they can hold in their bodies. and how useful it is. i try to understand and nod.
07-30-08 wed. ~N. a childhood friend. her mother shows me around their mansion. twisted hallways. a lot of people walking around. up on the second floor, we look down at a movie theater room with red curtains and lounge seating. 3 rows. i look to the left and notice S's mother is glaring at me. she obviously dislikes me. ~being late. feeling rushed. rummaging thru my belongings behind a shoji screen door. ~black crows.
07-31-08 thur. ~washing my face. a painting i did that i disliked and would never be completed. scribbled over with red marker. it sits under the sink. a lady in her mid thirties comes in, complements my hands. and then looks down at the painting, and saids it turns her on. starts to talk what is sexy and what is art etc. ~testing. 5 problems each. kanji. math. the same woman asks about this test, and is baffled that we are allowed to use calculators. ~house. yard. kids. they are watching me. aware. cautious. i have to pour some sort of soil or grain into another container.
08-01-08 fri. ~a group of men wearing lady clothes. in th center, a couple (one wearing a tux, the other a dress. both are men) are facing each other. they are wrapped and connected in a huge metal spiral slinky sort of a contraption. it is tightly coiling around there chest and waist and hip, only their head and limbs are free to move. they seem to be struggling. yet, when the music begins they pause and slowly and gracefully begin to sway and dance together, around each other. as if the metal restraints didnt exist, they perform with ease and elegance. the crowd stares. ~away from the performance someone is accused of stealing. an older man/lady with a bright pink dress and thick chest hair prances by and brags about a sausage he once stole, pointing at his crotch. we look down and in his crotch area a 3foot long bent sausage shows a lump under his pink dress. the sausage tip touches the floor and he does a little skip and a trot, with a grin. i am weirded out. ~penguin girls. girls that are like penguins. penguins that are like girls.
08-02-08 sat. ~i cant remember much, except for two girls in froofroo bikinis.

~ Tear Me ~ giclee print on archival hahnemuhle paper size: 10"x13" on a 11x"14"sheet with frame: 12.5"x15.5"x1" signed and numbered edition of 150 price of unframed: $100 framed: $220 shipping cost: tba available for purchase: ~ August 9th Saturday @ 6:00pm~ pacific time details and other issues ~the print will be available on my site. in order to purchase you must be registered. if you have not yet done so, please register by making an account. just your email & billing/shipping address etc. ~prints are all signed and numbered in the image area. we decided to start signing it this way (and not in the white space under the image) so if/when you would like to get it framed, you do not have to leave a white border around the image. this way, it will look more like the original! ~includes a certificate of authenticity ~conservationally framed with UV-coated acrylic ~frame personally picked out by myself ~beautiful dark cream Italian moulding ~acid-free backing and spacers to allow the print to breathe -Technical stuff- ~we upgraded the bandwidth and made other enhancements and maintenances, but this still doesn't guarantee a 100% perfectly working fool-proof system. we are doing all that we can do for the time being. if you get some kind of error message, please just understand that we've done all that's in our power. ~seeing and clicking the 'purchase' button doesn't guarantee a successful purchase. when the sale starts there may be over 1000 people waiting to buy a print.. so when the page refreshes everyone sees a purchase button. the system only lets a predetermined number of orders add the print to the cart. this is not a glitch - it is the only way to not oversell the print edition when there are more people trying to buy the print than there are prints available. ~some of you suggested a lottery system. im still considering it, but for now, i am sticking to the first come first serve. its already similar to a lottery, in the sense that if you're lucky, you get through. but if not, you dont. also, if we switch to a lottery it is bound to rise a whole new set of problems that we would need to tackle. and i do think we've already put a lot of effort and time into this current system! ~connection speed or location does not affect your chances. during the last sale, we've been told that people on the other side of earth, even on very slow computers, were able to buy one. people with slow connection as well. ~if it is too stressful to sit at your computer waiting to click at the right time and then not getting a print despite your effort, then please wait until we have unlimited products available. there is a reason we keep things limited editions. they are very special high quality professionally printed images. not cheap mass produced posters. ~i do appreciate your comments and suggestions here though. even if its complaining/venting, i dont mind. just know that ideally i would love it if i can make eveyone happy!! but unfortunately there is only so much that we can do. for the time being, i choose not to produce a whole bunch of different commodities in large quantities. i am hesitant to make commercial merchandise of my work. but (like i said earlier) we will have awesome postcard box sets this year. and maybe later down the line, we can offer original silkscreen prints. a book. and other unlimited things like buttons, stickers, a calendar, stationary etc. etc. ~for those of you purchased the 'If Only You Were Here' print, all will be shipped out by this week.

I hope I won't forget about this appointment this time. It'll be my first AK purchase. Though I must say I gotta see it in person to like it.

Audrey just posted this on her blog...the 5" x 7" painting "Forget Me Not" for the Distinction Gallery auction that starts on the 5th. Bidding starts at $1000, but there will be a "buy it now" available on the first day...$4k. Nice piece...just so tiny! yes, still quite tempting... let's direct all comments on this here as to prevent a double discussion.

It's amazing to see people are willing to fork that much out for her works. At times we have no choice but to look on the other side of things, meaning her works are worth something, despite other parties are making quick bucks from them.

Yeah...I guess in a sense, the person buying on eBay is paying true FMV...and everyone getting the prints directly from Audrey are profiting as well (although they choose to sit on it rather than cash in right away).

I couldn't get one either... I'm so sad over it too. If anyone was able to get one and changes their mind or doesn't feel that attached to it, please PM me. I would really like this particular one, framed preferably, thanks.
