Yes, the lanterns look cool. The one with the scissors look a little creepy with the other legs tied in string...

Not sure how many, if any, of you have seen this, but I found it on facebook and it's one of the most well done Audrey tattoos I've seen.

Congrats to Audrey on the showcase in the Japanese Illustration magazine. I think this show will really enlighten the Japanese art lovers

Did a little interview with Audrey here. One of the questions: Can you tell us a little about your show at Space Yui? Have you named the show yet? You mentioned in your blog that you were struggling a bit with this body of work. Audrey Kawasaki (AK): This coming show at Space Yui is my first show in Japan. Its titled “Watching Shadows ~Kageboushi~”. And yes, I did feel a bit of struggle, but that’s how it always is recently, which is expected. It would be boring if it was all a breeze. I am nervous though, since it will be my first show there and I’m not sure how it will all be received. I’m also not familiar with the art scene/market in Japan. I sense that the fine art demand and audience is more specific and limited, but that’s only my assumption. It would be so exciting though if my work can be accepted there. We shall see…

Looks like AK released some of the brooches we saw a while back at her Space Yui show. Can't wait for the general release.

What's next: T-shirts and mousepads? These are lovely and all, but I wish Audrey would stick to fine art. Looks like AK released some of the brooches we saw a while back at her Space Yui show. Can't wait for the general release.

I'm a motorcycle rider and would really like to check out the helmets.

Oh DAMN. I was at a track day last week and thought, "Damn, it would be awesome to have an Audrey image on a helmet."
I like that!

i'm not fond of this. i think it's beautifully rendered, but i keep thinking of the scene in Beetlejuice when he turns into a snake

She's got the blank stare that usually characterizes Audrey works I don't particularly enjoy.

Well, it's not really my cup of tea, either... just wanted to link to the show page so people would know why it was a little different than her usual.

I really enjoyed this piece. It's good that she took a chance and pulled away from just her normal human girls and reached for a hybrid of seductive "traditional-Japanese folklore" demon. It reminds me of The Ring or Grudge... creepy yet alluring.
