This is simply amazing. Every time I see a new Keyes' image is like a wonderful present out of nowhere. Love this one as well. Love his visual imagination, and he the elements are complex and yet so simple at the same time.

Very nice, I'm stunned.. My brain is still wrapping itself around this piece. Trying to determine butterflies are either: A) Giving life to horse skeleton. or B) Actually very hungry Locusts masking as butterflies. Regardless, love the shadow of the ribcage on the concrete. Brilliant attention to details by Josh.

Brilliant attention to details by Josh. I am having a similar debate in my own head: I think of the grassy side as life, yet this suggests that the hind quarters on the road are alive then passing through the butterflies and going to die in the grass. Absolutely awesome in the true sense of the word

ordered the book, too.
seems like he is on the "to buy list" of quite some board members...i'm wondering when the prices will sky rocket if they haven't done all ready?!
he really has a message, and that's what i like about art.

But, it's entitled "Shedding" so probably it's a horse becoming a skeleton instead of other way around?

A self portrait piece for his "Fragment" show at LeVine this weekend. Guess it's how he sees himself in the future because it's entitled "Self-Portrait - Old Man"

^^^^^^^^^^^ I love this portrait. It seems so fitting to his painting style, the order of the cart and his possessions yet the chaotic aspect of being (assumed) homeless and needing a gas mask.
Can't wait to see more from this show

Shedding and incubate were the prints. They were offered via email from the jlg waiting list. Published by limited addiction.

I think I have just about convinced the fiance to take the train ride into NYC tomorrow to catch the show. The pieces are fantastic and the self portrait reminds me of the book [and now movie] "The Road" but it a brighter way.

thanks Sven. I am relieved now, if it was the portrait I would have been crying, since I know I'm not high on the list

I thought it was interesting to see a panda referenced more than once in his notes, in a fairly developed sense in the above case. Not quite in line with his North American-centric animal pool, but I still think it would be awesome to see the majestic black and white bear make an appearance. An elephant was also written down a couple times, which definitely caught my eye. These animals don't seem to fit in his vision at first glance. Still, I'd welcome a batch of work where he shifted his vision to more global perspective, perhaps if only for a single show, rather than continue to riff on his go-to stable of critters..not that he's incapable of twisting them into new and imaginative motifs, cause he clearly is.
