Remember the Josh Keyes vinyl (records)? These might complement those nicely!

It must be a painstaking process for Dalek to make his work... technically, I mean. It's so precise - no room for error, no spontaneous brushing about... Yeah, it really is mindblowing...and he is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I just love the 8-bit-like quality too it, but it's so fucking refined and flawless in every single way. I think he's going to be one of the next to cross of my list of must-haves. Ain't gonna be cheap, but his work is so much more technically sound and appealing to me than it was a few years back when I could've readily afforded a piece. This painting from Art Basel in Miami is just disgusting in the best possible way. Absolutely love the color palette. Some of his pieces are a little too bright. This is kinda funny too...

To say that the information provided on dalekart.com is pathetic would be a serious understatement.
Does anyone know of a better place to go for info regarding Dalek? Specifically, does anyone know where his next exhibit is? I know he's shown at Levine last year maybe. But it doesn't look like anything's scheduled there through 2010. I assume he must have an exhibit sometime in 2009. Just need to figure out where.
Moreover, if anyone has contact info to get directly to the artist or his representative, please send me a PM. Thanks!

...he has some great looking work in the current elms lesters show... will try and post some links later - just on my phone at the moment.
I enjoy his work so so much more now than the style he was using a few years back, and know what you mean about picking a past piece up, but his older left me Cold.

Yeah, actually spotted that last night too. Thanks.
Got a response from James about upcoming shows. Here's a portion of his reply:
"The next show is in Charleston SC in January....although its more of an installation than a show.....that will be at redux art center... The first show show will be in Paris in April at Magda Danysz....there will be a few pieces for that show...then the only other show for next year will be in oct in London at elms lester.."
Also, there is a new website on tap, which should be up and running in the next few weeks!

Wow. After just receiving a response regarding the price on some available pieces that were intended for Art Basel, I realize just how far I am away from getting my mitts on one of these....like so far, I'll never see one....EVER! 28x28s go for $20k apparently these days. I wonder if he sells immediately at that price point. Oh well.

Yeah, I was excited about his show at Irvine earlier this year and was surprised and disappointed to see the work was $18-32K and yes, they sell out. He has come up a bit to say the least. I think a lot of this is due to the fact he was studying/working with Murakami It is amazing work to see in person.

This piece is actually a print created from a digital file. Agreed it is sick but is not an original painting or even a print of an original painting. Imagery and print created digitally

This piece is actually a print created from a digital file. Agreed it is sick but is not an original painting or even a print of an original painting. Imagery and print created digitally Is that right? Very interesting. Thanks for the heads up. I wonder why? I know he had two other new 28x28 paintings exhibited down there a different venue, as well. I'll admit it is a bit discouraging to hear such things as a would-be collector, who has been sniffing around for available work, while trying to rationalize the cost, and who's major critique of James' work is that it appears too mock digital and is something that could quite easily be replicated on a computer. On the flip side, that is also the appeal of it for myself. I'm blown away by the crisp, clean line work in his original paintings, so precise that it seems it must've required the aid of photoshop. But generally speaking, I tend to steer clear of original work that appears to digital in nature. It's important to me for a painting to exhibit that raw, emotional essence of the artist creating the work, something which is oft lost when paintings too closely resemble computer generated images. That hand made look and feel is something I value greatly. Still, I am drawn to Dalek's work, and seeing this Art Basel piece, despite it's questionable production methods, has caused me to revisit it. Looking back at the paintings from his Levine show last year to date, there are very few pieces that really doesn't impress me and that I wouldn't love to have hanging on my walls.
