so i realised that chloe didn't have a thread of her own her, although she has been discussed with passion in a few other threads in the past. to start things off, here's a couple of sneak peaks of detailed shots from her new body of work 'chasing castles', which is a 2 person show with her partner, conor harrington, at Kinsey/DesForges opening this saturday. her work is stunning, so if you are in the LA area, you really should go and take a look. she uses oil and gloss on either linen or aluminium. all of the paintings at kdf are on linen, plus there are some really nice drawings too. we'll have an interview with chloe and conor on arrested motion later today.

Love Chloe's work! She sent me images of the new work for KDF and it is top notch! All in LA should definitely go see the show.
Chloe will have one new painting in a group show with us in August. We are still discussing something bigger for the future with her, the hard part is making our schedules line up...

cool josh. i knew she was showing in ny soon. glad to hear its with you guys. here's one i'm proud to own. its called 'float'. 24x40 oil and gloss on aluminium - and it's as heavy as a monkey-chugger. you don't even want to think about the holes and bolts in my wall behind this piece... it will be staying right where it is for a long time!

When I was in London last November I enjoyed seeing Chloe's show at StolenSpace Gallery. One of my favorite images was, "Nature's First Lady" (oil and gloss on linen, 99cm x 99cm). Here's a picture I took of it.

that, my friend, is a fantastic charcoal piece! did you see how it was framed? i'm presuming like the other one in a white frame, but i didn't see a picture of this one from the opening...

Thanks, I can't wait to get it home. Then I can take and post a proper picture of it framed.
It actually didn't end up hung at the show because I asked Jana to put a black frame on it instead of a white one like the other charcoal piece they had at the show. I personally thought the black might look better -- guess I'll see once I pick it up.

Great pick up. I wondered why there were no pics of this piece in the show. I'm surprised to see that the other Chloe charcoal is still available. Very reasonably priced IMO.

Cocollect, I agree that the charcoals for both artists seemed to be very reasonably priced.
I didn't get a chance to see the other Chloe Early charcoal when I looked at mine before the show opened so I can't compare the two. I'm also surprised that the other hasn't sold yet though given the price.

did you get your charcoal piece framed rkitek? would love to see a picture... The gallery framed it for me but I'm not that happy with the frame job so I think I'll be re-framing it at some point. I'll see if I can take a decent picture and, if so, I'll post it. Nice tease Sleepboy, I'm really looking forward to seeing the work at her upcoming show. Cheers.

that piece featured in the first pic above is her biggest piece to date - must have been around 2.5 metres long. some fantastic layering and details in these new works.

Love that sketch piece above.
The golden apple of temptation and the woman fading to neon bodes well for the L.A. show.

Very optimistic pricing there for what I'd consider to be one of the weaker pieces at that show. I have a piece the same size from the same show and I'm sure the price back then was half that, maybe a third.
