i've been overtaken with respect for Mike Stilkey since seeing his work in bristol at the corey helford show. had thought what he was doing was great before hand, but actually being in the presence of one of his book installation was very inspiring.

he has a new exhibition opening next weekend at the new hurley space gallery in costa mesa, ca. 5000 books are going into the installation. wow.

check out this video hurley made on him last year - the one line drawing he rocks at the end of the video is stunning, particularly the way the holds the pen.

From his first international solo exhibition, Stilkey created his largest body of work alongside a 24 foot tall wall installation in Hong Kong. The exhibition was held as the central courtyard of the famous Hong Kong Times Square.
