Thanks for the PDF Volvic. The new work is dark and moody but there's a logical progression in the theme and most of the paintings are very recognisably hers, with a couple of exceptions. I suspect they look crap in a JPEG but spectacular in person as I'm sure there's a lot of lush detail in all that black and monotone. This is one of the jollier ones:  |

Without seeing these in person...I think I like them. As someone else said, it's tought to make out the detail from a jpg.

I was wondering. Did she hurt her career with these dark works? She's so young I don't think it even matters. A 30-year-old artist is a baby. Now is the time for her to experiment, challenge herself and push beyond her comfort level, develop, etc. |
