The GRAND PRIZE WINNER IS Only 15 Year Old Too!!!!!! This Kid is on the ball at half of the art events I go to in LA. Can't belive he won but, cool though. His Mom was proud when she showed up at the end when he claimed his prize.(Actually that's her in the mirror on Yoskays shoulder in the pic - see) I bet they'll support him in any show he wants to go to in the future based off of that score. What kind of luck? I won a prize too, this event was awesome!!! Question is Will Munky King make this their "Dunny" making it the main toy for the company and have many artists customized and elaborate on the figure giving it cool accessories etc. in the Years to Come. I suggest they do. Large White 22-26 Inch Do-It-Yourself" Koibitos should be the next objective fore Munky King/Yoskay. One of the coolest toys I've gotten in a while. PS first 25 people got a Bonus Gold Print of the Koibito Character on this textured paper as well as a bonus Black Bandana for the Koibito toy. awesome bonuses from Munky King/Yoskay. Respect.

Sorry, but I think that is the worst thing to do. The koibito belongs to Yoskay Yamamoto, and should not be a mass marketed toy. This is one of the first pieces of vinyl that was actually sculpted by the artist himself and should be treated as something special. The koibito is strong throughout his portfolio, but Yoskay will not remain stagnant, and the koibito does not consume all of his pieces. I still personally believe his most beautiful piece was 'Nightmare', that did not include the whimsical Koi. The example of the 'Dunny' is simply bad business. KR did that and it grew, inflated and burst within 3 years. There are many artists under MK's wing that will need exposure and product releases over the next few years, and I am sure we have not seen the last vinyl piece from the talented Yoskay. Just do not expect a saturation of the koibito, no matter that it could squeeze at least 8 colorways due to it's unusual nature. The people who look after Yoskay, look after him well, and he will continue to expand and invent and surprise his fans. Please do not ask him to stay within one particular 'theme' because that would be death, or at least a disappointing disinterest, which would be horrible. And as far as a D.I.Y? Absolutely not.

Can't belive he won but, cool though. good for him. i'm happy to see a 15 year old involved in and interested in art. winning something like this will only solidify and encourage his obvious passion for collecting art. thinking back to when i was 15, i spent all my money on collecting records (and beer of course ). i still have a massive record collection. have to say that i agree with kimberley regarding the koibito though.

I think Devours is on point here. Don't expect any additional colorways after the white/silver limiteds and white/red general release. Yoskay never wanted to be known as "the guy who paints fishheads" and if you follow his paintings, actually paints koibito's fairly infrequently. On the other hand, you can probably expect a new sculpt from him sometime in the not too distant future...and a new set of paintings this February.

Not really into his sculptures but he posted some up... I didn't mind the ones he contributed to the imaginary friends show. they were like capturing a scene in a shadow box... like the dioramas from grade school.

Wow, nice set up devours. I like to see there are other "army" collectors out there. Your yoskays have grown in number since I last saw

Devours... your collection is awe inspiring. I like the way you framed the prints along the wall. "Raiden" looks especially nice! It's one of my favorite paintings by him. (I wonder who bought it at the Marvel x 1988 show.) Can't wait to see what he paints next for his solo in May.

His next show should be quite exciting with new growth for sure. I am not fond of 'armies' usually as the shrine effect can get old for me personally. Yoskay is the last artist that I will do this with. Now I just prefer 3 or 4 pieces from each of my favorite artist whether it be toys or art. A little goes a long way.

Wow, run of 1000. I think its appropriate that that colorway be the big run. I think maybe Munkyking should have lowered the price a bit though, but if they can sell 1000 for $80, more power to 'em! I bet the other colorways paid the production cost and now everything here on out is just "gravy".
