judging from his recent tweets, it sounds like this beauty now belongs to lance armstrong. lucky guy! ha. yeah... i saw that too by reading AM's & his tweets. then looking at the piece.... makes sense that it was his commission.

not sure if it was a commission or not but it definitely seems like a good fit for lance armstrong.

ah... ok, my bad. I assumed it was a commission.... I'd be shocked if it wasn't inspired by him though.

Nice. I know Guillermo is also interested in Travis Louie and Chet Zar's work. I wonder who else he has in his collection. Hopefully, we'll get to see James Jean's work in Los Angeles sometime soon...

I know someone else at least but it'd let the cat out the bag on another project so I have to keep my lips sealed for the moment !

What is the price range on a James Jean piece?

What is the price range on a James Jean piece? B/S/T has a price check section. For reference, his last show at Jonathan Levine, in 2009 (I think) had pieces ranging from $2500 to $40K. The $40k pieces were large ones. His large pieces such as Tango go for $40K. Prices rocket skywards with the larger sizes. His new style is less elaborate and much looser and darker. I like it. Good thing I picked up some JJ OG (Fables) and a piece from Levine when prices were still, ahem, affordable. Now all the JJ I can afford are giclees.

Where'd you pull them from? pretty sweet eh? these were the drawings that the wallpaper at the Martha Otero Rebus show was based on. They were gifted to the programmers that did the OVM love website for James. Lucky bastards...
