+1 for the quick reply, thanks! I never even got the gallery email. I suppose I should shoot them an email to make sure I'm on the buy list. Ugh.

Looks like they're almost on their way. From the gallery: "The prints are currently with Ai Weiwei’s studio in Beijing and we are expecting their return to the Serpentine Gallery before the end of this month. We will be in touch with you directly to confirm any change to the schedule and will let you know as soon as your print is ready for collection/or dispatch. The Edition has been met with a great response and is now sold out and in the meantime we are considerably grateful to you for bearing with us in the production process."

Thanks for that. I saw this piece in person described in the article at an art fair in Los Angeles. It was pretty cool and full of meaning... "Ai also has a work called "Snake Ceiling" on display, made of hundreds of backpacks latched together in the shape of a snake. These are meant to represent children's backpacks left behind after the earthquake. Ai said he saw numerous piles of backpacks outside schools when he traveled to Sichuan following the disaster." Will have to stop by if I'm near D.C. before it closes...

Wow. He certainly knows how to keep himself in the news.
I like the imagery of him holding handcuffs.

Looks like his house arrest is making him go a little stir crazy.

Looks like his house arrest is making him go a little stir crazy. yeah it's a bit of shame really. he ought to get out more. ..does he get many visitors ? alas China's off my (let's go) list - something to do with Tibet. ./

Wow. He certainly knows how to keep himself in the news. And it sure isn't through his art. The character of Ai Weiwei, the meme if you will, is so, so much better than artistic production. Though, I wouldn't kick one of the marble doors out of my home. Love those.

"Chinese authorities have hardened their line on foreign musicians, after Elton John infuriated them by dedicating a performance to outspoken artist and activist Ai Weiwei, according to industry sources. Police arrived to interview the singer shortly after he announced that the performance, which took place in Beijing last November, was dedicated "to the spirit and talent of Ai Weiwei", according to two sources." www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/feb/10/china-tightens-concerts-rules
