yesterday I came across ArtZuid project in Amsterdam... among 70 sculptures presented in the Berlage district of Amsterdam South, there was a classic piece by Ai Weiwei titled "Forever":
I always liked his installations in which he's using bicycles, so I was very happy to find this one.. don't think any city on earth could be more fitting for this sculpture as Amsterdam has one of the strongest bicycle scenes I've experienced.. and seeing Weiwei using bicycles as a media for creating a greater object, sculpture, just confirms him as a great artist and creative mind.. if you're visiting Amsterdam these days, I'd strongly suggest you to check out this free exhibition..
"FB: I don’t think he’s helped the real dissidents, and I think he exploits his dissidence in favor of promoting his art."
"I hate Ai Weiwei. I think he should be put in jail for his art, and not for his dissidence … lukewarm dissidence, because a real dissident, you don’t hear about them any longer, you know? They just throw away the keys." put in jail for his art? really? as an outsider, FB might want to look in the mirror before giving more interviews and think about what he is doing before casting stones at "lukewarm dissidence" in china.
