First Day done : Highlights of Day 1
1. Meeting Beau from Lebasse 2. Meeting shark tooth and Gabe ( sorry of name is wrong ) Gabe had the most amazing little sketch book with him with a great set of 4 drawings from McGee and was a true pleasure to talk to 3. Finally catching up with Shepard Fairey and getting to speak with him for a few minutes while he took a break from a HUGE ( 15ft X 15ft maybe bigger ) hand stenciled piece on a building black and yellow was amazing. 4. Seeing ROA working on a huge wall truly amazing
Low Lights: 1. Not making it back to Scope and having to forgo my car travelers Beau GABE Sharktooth and other guy ( sorry ) 2. Car battery dieing 3. someone helping themselves to my cell phone while I was looking for triple A 4. Nada art fair ( I am not smart enough for this fair )
cant wait till tomorrow, great works everywhere on the street

I was so beat today to check out more of the street items , people are really making Miami amazing from Fairey, Shark Toof, ROA and so many others stopped by and saw amazing Blue Chip works as well. This fair has been amazing even though I have missed such things as Pharell and Kaws both still best thing art related I have ever done.

Nice meeting you briefly and I even left Pulse earlier because I needed a power nap from my red eye flight. Bummer about the car battery! I actually decided to rent a scooter after finding out that the events were spreaded out... Worth the splurge to see everything, but on the last day, my scooter simply died on me and good thing it was almost at the end of the day! Make any acquisition at all?

Yeah... Those Os Gemeos were stunning as well as their murals, too! Didn't see you the New Image Arts reception.
Following higbrow's style..
Highlight of the stay:
1. Absorbing the festive atmosphere of what Art Basel has to offer. 2. I thought that Aqua was the best fair so far. 3. Finally get to meet Kaws 4 the 1st time since I first bought my first Kaws figure 8 years ago. 4. Seeing many superstar artists everywhere! 5. Renting a scooter
Lowlights of the stay:
1. Wynwood murals: overrated and repetitious 2. Overwhelming experience! 3. Few pieces that I want to acquire got sold already. 4. Scooter went dead on me with a few hours left of art whoring 5. Stuck in a 5 hour plane back home ATM!

This being my first basel I have to say I saw alot and missed twice as much. Besides having my car go dead and phone being stolen out of my car in a friends parking garage, which led to me not being able to get back to scope or return a ride back to Beau from LeBasse other then that I think I need a better plan for next time. Also low side not getting to meet any other members of the board ( however i think I may have met one but I dont remember his name he rode in my car to scope with Beau and Shark Toof he had the most amazing sketch book with McGee Cheuh and so forth in it.

Actually, you got my name, Gabe, correctly in the first place. I simply didn't know that you were a AM member here. So thanks for giving a fellow AM member a ride. It made me realize that it was definitely time to rent a scooter during the Art Basel. ;-)

Gabe, Pleasure to meet you again now on the computer. Sorry we didnt get to speak more after I dropped everyone off at Scope I went by to say hey to Shepard for like two minutes and drop my car in the garage. Well my car battery died when I went back to it to grab my bag, then waiting at friends place for AAA I left my car unlocked and someone got my cell phone, sad as I know the condos are very nice so makes me wonder. Amazing sketch book and now I am off to see if you have a collection post here. Great time and finally met my first AM member and didnt know it.

Great trip...and nice to hang with you Highbrow...i thought we had offended you since we never heard back after you dropped us off! we can rebate next year. Giant Barbara Kruger chess set and Marco Brambilla's EVOLUTION screening at the Standard were hands down my favorite experiences. Anyone who got to see Brambilla's 3D video outside on the beach knows what I am talking about. Seriously, i spent 30 minutes watching this thing loop. Here's the article on it: Marco BrambillaIn 3D it was just mind blowing...and apparently coming to the Santa Monica Museum in May. I will be there and so should you.

Never Beau I appreciate you walking me through the Nada Fair and speaking and learning about artists and styles I was unfamiliar with. My car battery died after dropping my car and my phone got borrowed by a stranger without me knowing ( stolen ) all in my friends parking garage. Either way next year I will be prepared and thank you very much

Love the Campbell. Think the scale works so well. First time he's work on a quad Treasury sheet, which is four times the size as the normal sheets he was working with prior. Both are amazing, but actually think I preferred the Parla that was at PULSE too..

I definitely prefered the one at It Ain't Fair.
Making my way home from Miami this afternoon. Hope everyone that came had a blast. There definitely was not enough hours in the day to get everything done.

Tony Shafrazi will be revealing a new sculptural piece at Basel as well as temporary tattoos and screening his new documentary. More info here.Shafrazi's booth was unbelievable. The work was incredible and the people visiting the booth were really excited by it. It was packed the three times I went to the main fair.
