This first post will be the ONLY ONE that contains text.

This thread is RADICAL CONCEPTUAL ART because it goes beyond
TEXT. Traditional conceptual art contains text only.
EXAMPLE:
Sol LeWitt simply typed his instructions for the wall drawings
( other people or art students would follow his instructions in
order to execute the actual drawing on a bare wall ). In fact, this
artist would sell the " instruction sheet " signed & dated to a
collector who would have to create the drawing or hire someone
to complete the labor-intensive process.
The Sol LeWitt__" Wall Drawings "__are some of the most
famous Conceptual Art works in art history ( this fact is probably
the reason his works sell for very high prices at auction houses
worldwide ).
NOTE:
If you're not familiar with artworks by Sol LeWitt __here's the
link to a fantastic slideshow for his big exhibition:
www.flickr.com/search/show/?q=sol+lewitt&w=67328355%40N00&ss=2
Understand all the works were created by volunteers and
workers ( they followed the exact instructions by Sol LeWitt ).
* Also, the artist had died before the show.
From here on out any member can leave a single or multiple
LINKS. The next post will be the EXAMPLE of what I'm
talking about. I have a vision of a thread packed with nothing
but LINKS [absolutely nothing to read !!]. It will be kind of a hit &
run deal. Also, no comments as to whether you love or
hate the work of art you view (after clicking on any LINK). If you
so much as say " Boo " or " Hi " ___any moderator or the
primary administrator is instructed to delete your post without
notice or explanation.
Later edit:.. Nov. 2, 2010__11:09 A.M.
RECOMMENDED WAY TO GET STARTED:
Scroll down approx. 80% to my Reply #7 where you'll find links
to the awesome paintings by Frederic Edwin Church. In fact, the
first link takes you to " Heart of the Andes " 1859.
This very large work ( I got to view it at the National Gallery of Art
...Wash. D.C. during his retrospective ) will blow your mind !!
By the way, if you love the art of Pablo Picasso ( he's my favorite
of alltime ) check out Reply #6 which contains many links to
his paintings, drawings, and prints. Well, that's how you should
start in order to get a feel of this very different kind of thread.
*Notice after I post the first link to any given artist's painting
I post: ......1 to 3 photographs of the artist. I would appreciate
other members doing the same.
NOTE: Be sure to click on the image to see if it pops up larger.
Click on the enlargement to put it back in it's original state
....(a bit fuzzy though). Right-click your mouse and select 'Refresh'
as the menu pops out to put image back in sharp focus.
[ I post hi-res large images for each artist ].
Thank you all in advance for leaving a link....
[ or two, three, four, five, six, seven, etc. ].
