This is Melissa Forman's first solo show. It's her largest body of work to date. She is truly a painter's painter. Enjoy the sneak peeks...

Hyper realistic. So much that the piece 'Healer' looks almost Photoshopped. Spectacular work by a skillful artist.

Those are beautiful. I hope there will be a print of one of her pieces offered.

The 'Healer' s absolutely insane. When all the elements come together like they do in this piece, her work is as close to perfect as you can get.

That's beyond generous:
"We're celebrating Melissa Forman's 1st LA solo exhibition with "open to the public" festivities, including gourmet treats provided by the Border Grill mobile feast, our traditional free drinks and snacks in the CHG party tent, music by DJ Lynk, and for this Saturday night's opening only - a FREE set of four exclusive 5X7 mini-giclee prints of Forman's works to each of the first 200 guests (see images on the attached evite). These prints will be of the same quality as larger prints, suitable for framing, and never again available in this format, so arrive early! Online previews for both Melissa Forman's exhibition and the first CHG appearance by special guest artist Andy Council, a young emerging street artist from Bristol, UK, can be seen by using the links and passwords below. See you Saturday night! Best, Jan"
Apparently I am not able to post the evite, but The Healer is one of the images.

Pretty amazing work. I think she may have just made my shortlist for 2011. Well, it's never really a "short" list.

Wow, I agree with katrin, that is above and beyond What a wonderful gallery. Corey Helford Gallery has done what I never thought possible; I am wishing I was closer to Southern California.

Thanks to everybody for coming out and making Melissa feel so welcome! Even after printing 300 of the mini giclee sets, we ran out early. But we're pretty sure we got everyone covered by the Border Grill truck. It was a great weekend for artlovers in Los Angeles, with Mercedes at Merry's, Ron English in the O.C. (okay not technically LA), ROA w/Thinkspace at New Puppy, Giant Robot at Scion, Chris Peters and Mark Garro at Copro, Block Party at Carmichael...and more. Hope to see some of you at our exhibit at Scope Miami! Melissa enjoying her opening Sharktoof, Melissa, Brandi Milne & Lola
