Did you ever buy a piece of art and wait so long for it, you start to fall out of love with it. I ask because to me when I wait for something to long I tend to slowly fall out of love, or at least start to loose a small bit of interest in it. Normally that all goes away when the work arrives, I hope this continues to stand true

I think that may have happened to me with the Michael Page print that virtu has available. I was so excited when I first saw the announcement, but my interest has certainly waned waiting for the pre-order. I still love the image, but may end up passing now (especially since my 2011 art-resolution is to buy a nice original instead of prints/framing).
Of course, if you are referring to your Frizzell, I wouldn't worry. I'm sure it will be fantastic.

I'm going through a similar thing at the moment over a commision that I organised at the start of 2010 and that I don't expect to see until May 2011 at the very earliest. I have to keep reminding myself that it will be amazing.

(my fault 100%) Most of our editions are finished or in their last stage before I announce them. Sorry about the wait with the Enkis Gold. We had finished the piece and sent them to Michael to S/N & Embellish when he noticed the color was slightly off (little to orange) but not enough to start over. When they came back to me i placed the finished piece next to the original proof and left them for a few days to look at. After a few days i asked Michael if we could start over and make them perfect, he agreed. So the first batch went bye bye and we started from scratch. Michael shipped the new (perfect) pieces back last week and after another varnish they will ship. Sorry again for the delay. We will host a "Enkis Gold" contest later.

virtu,
I hope you didn't take my comment as criticism, that was not how it was intended. I certainly understand that delays happen and appreciate that you would go the extra mile to ensure quality. I'll definately keep a look-out for the contest!

Yes sadly slightly to my Frizzell, I know ( well hope ) it will go away but at this point not having it seems to be ok. It is not at all fault of the gallery regarding the time issue, they have been great and gave me a true reason for the issue, and I have worked with them in the past and never had any issues. Its just I have been waiting for the piece since 1 week prior to the opening.

that happens to me almost every time I buy something.. living in Europe it usually takes 10-15 days to get stuff I ordered from US (if it ships out straight away), and that is enough time to start doubting my decision (who am I kidding, Im doubting my decisions the moment I make them!)... I think the biggest problem is that you see so much other stuff while waiting for something you already paid for, you start doubting if you should've wait and get something else for that money.. not to mention buying vinyl, and prices dropping right after the release, and you paid the original price + tax + mule + super high shipping... but it's all part of the game we all obviously love playing, right!?
