came across some of his work in sheffield last weekend. this was a new piece. looked straight out of the comic in the post above.  Phlegm by sven / a million pieces, on Flickr phlegm's work translates very well from the fine detail of a book page to large murals in the same style. quite a rarity i think. |

First post, decided to register because I don't see phlegm discussed in many places and he's one of my favorite street artists. Those abandoned school pieces look great and shooting them at dusk adds a great feel to them.

yes fnord, the lighting certainly added to the feel of the pieces.
i was pretty honoured that he took the time to show me around, as i think i would have missed some of the pieces if i went on my own.
it was a very creepy place, and pretty rotten throughout. phlegm almost went through the floor on one occasion.
i'm really looking forward to seeing the edition of the comic that these narrative pieces will be included in.

Ohh wow I didn't post expecting the photographer to join in the discussion  For a street artist he seems to stay away from most publicity, from what I've seen, so that definitely would be an honor. Imo the creepiness just adds to the fantasy in his pieces. He seems to have picked the locations very carefully and incorporated the limited directional lighting into the work which looks great. I too am looking forward to his next comic, #10 is great. And another bump for Phlegm's zines, the current bundle (3 comics for 10pounds) is beign wrapped in test sheets from his newest big print, a steal. |

Do like phlegm's stuff, reminds me a little of Know Hope's figure tho...... still great to see someone painting walls properly.

That's a nice ship. I like the how the he used the lights on the wall. My favorite pieces of his are half fantasy, half adventure and this fits that well.

The evolution of his character is great, cleverly done. I believe he may be bringing a version out at some point....
