If you liked Banksy's Exit Through the Gift Shop movie, check out a new movie called Color Me Obsessed
If Exit Through the Gift Shop, created a new genre of documentary, where the brilliant art is both in and of the movie, Gorman Bechard's Color Me Obsessed, takes that genre and to the next level and creates a multi layered movie, where the audience is introduced to not only the seminal rock band of the 1980's called The Replacements, through the eyes of many of their fans; but also introduces us to these fan's themselves not only as characters in the movie but as people, some truly famous in their own right, with each bringing their own dimension to the movie's canvas.
The audience will laugh, smile, cry, and maybe even feel a bit uncomfortable, due to vulnerability shown by some of the people and through that honesty, the movie shows yet another layer, which is a layer of humanity. However, what makes this a true masterpiece is that due to the shared experience, memories from the film will come rushing back days later, bringing with them a sense of belonging and a smile to your face!
ps... Figured I'd add this as a new topic as I assume the artchival users dig independent movies and may enjoy this new one in 2011
