Excited to hear this is going to happen this year as it sounded like they weren't sure when I attended last year. The opening will probably be in September. No word on what artists are participating yet but Moneyless apparently is the first. Check it out on the FAME Festival blog: www.famefestival.it/?p=1716LOVE Moneyless! Thanks

Sleep, you planning on going again this year? I'm seriously considering it and would love to travel or meet up with any other forum members (or hear any advice from past attendees)!

Yah, I went last year. It was kind of unexpected actually. Me and the wife decided to take our honeymoon on a Mediterranean cruise that was planned in advance. Turns out the starting port city was Bari which I found out was like one hour from Grottaglie and the weekend we started was the weekend the FAME festival was open as well so we got lucky and stopped by. Definitely recommended. I'm not planning to this year but I know some other members are going as well.

I'm not planning to this year but I know some other members are going as well. Who?? I'm debating on going. Was on the fence last year and if plane tickets are cheap enough I'll hopefully go for a long weekend. End of September in Southern Italy could still be beach weather.

I was mistaken, I thought I knew someone going but I was wrong. I'm sure some will pop up as we get closer...

Here's a Ericailcane mural. Look, there's the crazy lady who had the Escif mural on her house last year.

i like it. I think it would be funny to check out I think some of Angelo's post indicates that he would like to see this year be a bit more offensive and cause more of a stir as people as locals are not starting to mind the festival. The announcement he made earlier in the year: big news is : FAME 2011 is going to happen bigger news is : we’re fucking serious
after the first two years we’ve spent struggling to make it work, the third year it worked so well that it just got immediately boring. people in town were happy, we’ve had a great response from outside and everybody had a nice pretty smile for us
nonsense.
we’re not decorating the city, we dont want to make anybody happy (at least not on the short term). we just want to make shit happen, destabilize, possibly destroy.I wouldn't mind having one of these Sam3 sculptures

I agree, murdock. The I'm full of myself, rebel without a cause syndrome is depressing and tiring.

I agree, murdock. The I'm full of myself, rebel without a cause syndrome is depressing and tiring. That's not his reasoning at all, that's your interpretation of his blog-post. If he is still in the mood he is in at the moment and he can fulfill his wishes then you, and the poster above, will most likely not find much to enjoy at next year's festival. Lisbon is next for a shake-up though..
