Have been reading about a lot of interesting art-related kickstarter projects recently. If you find one, please post it in this thread and we can discuss it here and possibly support it.
I will start it off with the Rabbit Island Artist Residency:

This has completed the fund raising but the event is due to happen in September. It's a nice idea for the supporters to gain some original art work as part of the deal I think.

Brooklyn-based Swoon has a dream of building a permanent interactive structure in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans that she will call Dithyrambalina. “It will look like a house, but it will function like a musical instrument with a group of local and national sound artists working towards interactive instruments that can be built into its walls and floorboards so that visitors can bring the house to life through their touch. Ultimately, musicians will be invited to play the house, performing orchestrated works at block parties for their friends and neighbors. This project is for the love of New Orleans – its architecture, music, culture and its people.”

Leon Reid IV and Julia Marchesi have teamed up for Reid’s latest project: The Hundred Story House. It’s a sculpture designed to house free books at a park in Brooklyn’s Cobble Hill Park.

This is wefund, but my friends band.. ''Everyone please check this out! Our van has broken down for the final time and has to be scrapped! We're trying to get ourselves sorted with a safe and reliable van for our next year of touring so we've set up a wefund project. Thanks, Matt. Wow, great articles LowPro! I'm working on a Kickstarter campaign right now, it's amazing how few campaigners think about these things.

as a gardener, and plant nerd, i really hate it when i see bamboo used for fantasy projects. bamboo is a grass. it needs A LOT of water to sustain itself. especially in a container. it's not a good choice for a sun-baked, windy, and most importantly, limited root zoned bilboard application. it's a great choice for a painting, a photoshopped image, or a concept piece to tickle the fancy of the viewer, "yeah..wouldn't that be awesome. bamboo gardens instead of advertisements!"
yes, it would be awesome. but when it dies, or starts to look half dead. that's not pretty. that's just sad. i really wish they could go that extra mile and find some plantings that could actually work. what? they've talked with some bamboo growers? some bamboo growers that stand to make money if this project goes through. hell yeah they said it would work. if they want to buy it, they're going to sell it to you.
don't get me wrong, i like the concept. i just hate that they want to use bamboo. i vote no.

Also just seems like a big waste of money. Fake bamboo would achieve the same result if it really is an idea worth investing in, require no maintenance, and nobody's going to be able to tell the difference from 150 feet away.

They have far exceeded their goal, but if you're interested in Ben Templesmith, Menton3, or Steve Niles...
