These are amazing. Do you have a link for him? With such a common name, it's really hard to find his website!

Finally saw some of his work in person today at Nucleus gallery and it was quite stunning. They have a pretty big space now and put up alot of paintings from their inventory up since they don't have a show right now. Well, my eyes were immediately drawn to Mike Brown's paintings. Especially these. He has alot of stuff available here www.gallerynucleus.com/artist/michael_brown

Thought I'd post a little update on the wonderful Michael Brown. He showed last year at Sarah Bain Gallery, where he's shown several times before. I also did a little profile on him a while back at Erratic Phenomena. "The Titanic" "Four Star" "Hierarchies" "The Tempest" "Cave Dweller" "Vater" "Octopusspuss"

I first noticed his work at a show he had a Distinction Gallery, it was a series of these tree stump paintings and I was blown away at the depth he achieved with his style.

Mike submitted a couple of fascinating paintings for the "Cry for Help" show at Thinkspace. He said that instead of painting a specific endangered animal, he painted animals that were "acting out human activities that would in turn lead to their endangerment." This one is entitled "Wish." The canvas is floated in a thick, dark handmade wood frame, very substantial and impressive. Incidentally, he's showing at Roq la Rue next winter. Congratulations, Mike!
