I'm a big fan of Witfooth - that piece "Tears" and the sculptures in the Copro show are my favorites... I would like to own one of his pieces some day hopefully soon.

He's also a super cool guy I did a little talk at his request for his Masters Degree program for Illustration class at SVA He was the most talented person in his class!!!!

I love my painting and am happy no one has purchased it! I think he has a solo show at Copro coming up sometime in 2009 - the piece I have reminds me so much of one of my dogs - the posture of the bear/elk creature is very close to the posture of my cane corso and for that reason alone I'm attached to it. I moved the painting from one spot to another to get a different perspective recently and I have a brand new fondness for it. I highly recommend his work. The color pallet he uses took a little getting used to for me as it is kind of subdued but, after some adjustment, really treats the viewer well.

Martin's most recent, from the Hi-Fructose group show. It appears to still be available, if anyone's intrigued. "Aesop's Folly XIV"

I adore his work so completely and in in teh spirit of his upcoming (and friggin' incredible) show, i thought i'd post my adoration ;D i own a print and an original and am SORELY tempted by some of the pieces in his show - too bad i just blew my wad on another artist AND [shameless plug] my buddy thewalrus is selling his incredible witfooth piece for an incredible price in the b/s/t - check it out I like this piece entitled "The Peace Monument". Would it not have been better if it was a half buried HUMMER? It would have looked cooler. But it would have been a cliche, maybe. Then the title wouldn't make sense also. I'll have to think about this one.

Just noticed this post on Nathan Spoor's blog about a cover article in Bliss magazine last month. Martin has a book coming out from Mark Murphy very soon, as well as a show at Yves la Roche in June. Can't wait to see what he comes up with, his work is evolving by leaps and bounds. I will have an interview with him at Erratic Phenomena shortly. Check out the rest of the article here.

I'm quickly becoming a fan of his. Great work. I love seeing painters that know how to paint.
