Yeah. Saw them on the Basel site a couple weeks back. Not that a real pic will do these things justice either. Just figured I'd see. Was more interested in the price than anything. Wonder what they upped them to from the 8k price point that held for nearly 2 years prior to the PC signing last Dec. Wouldn't be surprised if there's potentially a complete - or close - set of these held back just waiting to be filttered out into the market, even if simply the APs.
And went to a more informative place to figure out the Campbell deal the other day. The number of massively important artist that gallery has shown since opening in the 60s is nuts. Good for Scott. The flag piece was real nice, even though it doesn't have the more intricate laser cutting and layering that some of the sheet reliefs from his last solo and that Jancou show had. For some reason, I'm a sucker for a flag..especially one made out of cut treasury sheet and burning. Reasonable price too.

Low, what did you mean by "a more informative place to figure out the Campbell deal the other day." I thought we are the end all be all of informative info!?  I'm a sucker for flags too. However your comment about laser cutting surprised me. I always thought Scott did all his cuts by hand for the artwork. He uses lasers? That could explain how super precise some of his pieces look. |
