Yeah seemed to be alot of hype for a fight that didnt do to much. Marquez post fight interview was he nude with a mexican hat covering his goods? I knew he would complain if he didnt win the decision but he has to know if you are fighting the title holder you have to win be a large margin not be a slim one or they are going to give it to the champ. I hope to see a real fight with Mayweather and Pac. but wont hold my breath, Mayweather goes and announces he has the venue and date ( he may want to talk to someone in Pacs. camp ) but all in all Pacquiao looked good at the weight, seemed fast and had a fair amount of power. Seemed Marquez wanted to play counter boxer which doesnt work well with Pacquiao. All in all the fight before was better and I am a huge Pac fan and think that fight left something to want.

Weird, I thought it was a superb fight
I thought it was Marquez's all the way! In fact i just watched it again and still do. I thought pac looked somewhat predictable compared to previous outings and marquez had the measure of him. He kept bringing him on and picking him off superbly every time. pac couldn't get his left off and when he did he was missing by miles.
i gave the 1/6/9/10 to pac and some of those only just, the 2/3/4/5/8/11/12 to marquez and split the 7th. But marquez took those rounds by some distance imo.
The post fight commentators in the uk were upon arms about it too.

Droow2 my fellow lover of hand to hand combat but I will again love to debate this and agree we both are winners as we will have open debate back and fourth and hopefully both of us will change the others mind somewhat. Now on to fight.
I guess I found it less dramatic and climatic then the previous two fights which I felt were wars between them. It could be I am just so over the Mayweather vs Pacquiao nonsense that any other fight feels like at this point it is just a holding place until that happens.
this fight I think that fighting three times these two know each other so well they can predict the others move so the fight seemed to me to run in spurts. The first two fights ( really the first ) as they learned each other it appeared to be more constant , the final round I wasnt sure as Pac seemed to come on late. Pacquiao threw more punches landed more and marquez landed the harder punches however he still took abuse, I know pac had a cut in his mouth but by round 9 or so Marquez was having much damage to his face, and it was clear also I feel it was effecting him.
Also it is said American judges when close rounds tend to reward the fighter who throws more punches, while I would not agree with this, but if it is not 100 percent clear that one fighter took the other then they really have no choice but reward to the boxer who lands the most punches. Also I feel if you hold the title and someone is challanging for it, they have to clearly win outright if it is close they are going to reward the belt holder, it is easier to defend the belt then to take it away.
Mayweather has already come out and said he didnt watch the fight and has never watched a Pacquiao fight which tells me one of three things, 1. he is a liar or 2. he is stupid or 3. He has no thoughts on fighting Pac.

i definitely thought marquez won it, but i'm also not surprised it was given to pacquiao. i agree it was much less dramatic than the first two, and i think i attribute most of that to the fact that neither fighter seemed to be dangerously hurt throughout the fight. perhaps each guy was shook a bit here and there, but nothing serious...whereas past fights seemed damn near crazy with both guys throwing caution to the wind and being extremely vulnerable while "going for it" much of the fight.
i predicted pacquiao to look much more technical than marquez because i thought of him as evolving further down that path since their last fight, but marquez kind of shut that thought down. i thought marquez's counter punching was superb and it was almost like he knew what pac was going to throw before it came half the time. also, manny's kind of lunging/off balance style only seemed to be counter productive this fight as when he was missing his lead shots he ended up smothered a lot of the time or countered then smothered. he also couldn't seem to land that lead left hand that he's able to land on other fighters.
overall i thought the fight was really interesting and i was very happy for juan manuel until the judge's decision. he fought a great fight.
