I'm surprised it took him so long. Actually I'm not surprised. I have a feeling because this is such a controversial subject many artists have stayed away. obeygiant.com/headlines/occupy-hope#more-16904Regardless of how I feel about the movement I honestly think this image is horrid, unoriginal, rehash. Mr. Fairey, If you have such strong feelings about the Occupy movement maybe you could put a bit more effort into the art work. Attachments:

Mr. Fairey, If you have such strong feelings about the Occupy movement maybe you could put a bit more effort into the art work. I don't have a problem with anyone seizing an opportunity to make a profit. But I do think it's rich (pardon the pun) irony that a 1%er like Fairey is playing the dupes in the 99% so blatantly for a buck. That alone should tell you all you need to understand about his "true passion" for this cause as reflected in a passionless work-- but certainly he's smart to have acted to get something out fast, even if it's "horrid, unoriginal and rehashed", since this "movement" seems to have worn out its media embrace and thus usefulness to its political sponsors, soon making it just another footnote of the campaign season. Wasn't billionaire (or thereabouts) JayZ hawking t-shirts? All so shameless, and yet nobody calls them on it. Weezy

^ I sort of like it. Mainly because it seems to be a renouncement of his original Obama propaganda piece. And I just bought this print which fits here as well

I find it a huge worry that the level of political activism in the under 30's in the UK is non-existent. As a 42 yr old i find this incredibly frightening, we are about to have a general election in the UK and the lack of artistic commentary is shocking, in terms of music, art, theatre, the lot. Politicians have bred apathy due to their duplicity. By losing hope and giving into this people are sleepwalking into a never ending govt of nothing

Indeed the uk at present seems to be large place (in terms of people) where there is an unquestionable lack of serious debate going on with those (under 30 I agree) who should be asking more and shouting a lot more.
Slipping into an almost drugged Consumption based apathy, "oh well if it doesn't affect my apple updates or ... Something else as bland , then it doesn't affect me at all"..
(Don't you see, you fekin donkey, if you don't vote it'll be the same again... )
Last weeks debate for a time was vaguely interesting if only for the jibes using numbers into the ether ( making no sense and sounding as vacuous as a fart in a trance).
Zero hours contracts ffs , how can people get on with that... Way more damaging than what I saw flying past years back , YTS , new deal , bum deal whatever.
As for the art as a voice , ffs the uk is a desert of proverbial dirge.... (Neate , mic , b and .... Perhaps one or two others all looking after no 1 , time to move along..).
Get blu over here sharpest... (I wish)...
