I can vouch for Stephanie's work... -its very intricate, (you hit the nail on the head... they look like extremely large black and white photos) - I made the show last night and was quite impressed with both of her pieces.... -in all honesty, I would have grabbed one if I did not already have plans to buy a few other pieces. ec

Went down to the fair this afternoon with my wife. Very similar set-up to PULSE. We enjoyed the fair... although we ultimately came home empty-handed. But I have to say, Thinkspace had it going on. I thought Stephanie's work was outstanding. And that Viveros was hot (long gone, of course). Also liked Matt Doust's work. The piece seen above was sold and it was jaw-dropping in person!
Big thanks to Andrew for the hook-up!
C.A.V.E had a couple nice Kevin Peterson pieces... one of which was sold.
After Affordable, we went over to the massive L.A. Art Fair at the convention center. It was pretty overwhelming to try and do both shows in one afternoon, but we made it happen. The L.A. Art Fair was a little less accessible to our pocket book, but man oh man... there was some insane stuff there! The traditional side of the show had museum quality pieces and the modern/contemporary side had pieces by Warhol, Dine, Johns, Hirst, Picasso and on and on and on. If you had a couple million to spend... You were in heaven!

Hey all - thank you so much for the kind words of support, means a lot. We've been having a great fair and it has been amazing how many have come by to say hi. Been great to catch up with everyone. Stephanie Buer's work is indeed super strong. We are very excited at where she's taking her work and her skill with light is just astounding for charcoal works. You have to work very clean and meticulously to achieve what she does within her work. She's from Detroit, MI where she was working in the auto industry as a concept artist and took much of her photographic reference for her current work in the downtrodden areas of the once great city of Detroit. Once she decided to get out of the auto industry she and her husband moved to Portland, Oregon a while back. A friend of mind owns a coffee shop there and late last summer shot me some images of a local artist that just wandered in and had her works hanging that month and he felt I would like it and could do something for her. She's very off the radar so far but will have a site and more up in the months ahead for her. Her talent is undeniable and we've already sold a couple of works from her at Beyond Eden this past year and have had a great reaction thus far during this fair as well. She also excels in oils and you can see some examples at the link below. Other examples of works we've shown / have sold are here: www.thinkspacegallery.com/bio.php?artist=Stephanie%A0BuerStephanie has a solo coming up in late April in our project room and more to come after that with us heading into 2013. Very excited to shine a light on her talent. Also look for much more from Australian artist Matt Doust in the months ahead and a solo in 2013. His pieces have caused a huge reaction and we've placed both in very nice collections. We'll have another big 4x5 foot piece featured in 'Picks of the Harvest 2012' this March and more in the works to follow that. Doust also doesn't have a website but will have a new one up soon. You can see more of his work via Google images below: www.google.com/search?q=Matt+Doust&hl=en&client=safari&rls=en&prmd=imvnso&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=J2kcT4fvJ6LWiALCn52wCA&ved=0CDAQsAQ&biw=1165&bih=694 Also look for a solo from Kevin Peterson with us coming up this November.

Thanks for the update. Man, Matt Doust really captures the inner soul in his pieces. That's really, really tough to do. There's just a spark in the eyes of all his subjects. Amazing! Love to see such strong work from Thinkspace!

Thanks again Swabie! Really excited about some of the folks we'll be featuring in our upcoming 'Picks of the Harvest 2012' too. Lots of great new talent we're excited to shine a light upon. Will be posting more sneak peeks from that one as we get closer. Doust's new one for the March show will be worth the visit alone, if only to see his brush work in person.
