Since it seems we're already thinking about our New Year's resolutions, I figured I'd start off a new thread for next year.
As for me, my desires are not greatly changed from last year. I'll be looking to pick up some of these:
Andrew Hem (drawings, sculptures, paintings) Edwin Ushiro (drawings, hopefully!) Dabs Myla (more painted objects, and perhaps a painting) Rob Sato (small drawings or paintings)
I have a bit of a yen for something from Fuco Ueda, Rebekah Bogard, Aron Wiensenfeld or Wayne White. But we'll see... the budget only stretches so far.

i'm still looking out for the right richard colman piece.
also something from paul wackers. again. it has to be the right piece though. something along the lines of the piece that gamma888 picked up a couple of months ago would be fantastic.
would love to be able to get a geoff mcfetridge canvas also.
perhaps some more photography pieces if i can find the right pieces too.
i'm really hoping to get something from matthew palladino's solo in february though. that's my main thing this coming year.
also still after a really nice bast piece also if that could work out. i could go on, but should probably stop there, although i'm hoping to discover some new (to me) artists too that have a quirky vision. that's probably the thing that i enjoy the most about obsessing over art - finding something new and exciting.

my 2012 is going to be quiet. the only thing I am really looking for is a large KAWS canvas and the elusive Ad Disruption. I am kicking myself for not pulling the trigger when I found so many a few years ago.....hopefully patience and persistence will prevail.

I'm really hoping 2012 is the year I finally get a shot at a Keyes OG. Two years of trying with no luck so far
Jeremy Geddes (unlikely as his popularity has gone through the roof) Andrew Hem Nate Frizzell

I think 2012 is going to be the year the bottom falls out of our little community. Looking at preliminary reports, people spent a lot this holidays and credit card bills will come due in January. Coupled with the overall state of the economy, I think it's going to be a buyer's market.

like rizza I am looking for a KAWS Ad Disruption, more Palladino and an early Tauba piece (highly unlikely)

Planning to continue to diversify a little with my collection in Y2012 so makes planning a little more difficult. Obviously not all these will arrive. From street art genre I would like to add a few of the following pieces KAWs - Tondo Futura - Canvas Shep - Proud Parents HPM on Wood BAST - Large Canvas or unique paper Banksy - RC (Hand sprayed) On the diversification front. Ryan McGinness - Black Hole (Unique) Julian Opie - Have my eye on a abstract original Paul Wackers - Again have my eye on a piece from his current show Lucien Smith - Fire Extinguisher Painting Katrin Fridriks - Canvas On the pipe dream list would be a Tauba Auerbach original (to make up for the one that got away... ) and a large OS Gemeos canvas. Last minute Y2011 purchase that should arrive this year. Matthew Palladino - Acrylic on paper

Not sure what planet im on when typing this but a Kaws or proper Os gemeos original would be great. Im loving the new direction Paul Insect, so maybe one of those is more realistic and a Murakami Flower ball print. I would say no 2012 purchases, but that is completely pointless and unachievable

Two targets for me next year: Aurel Schmidt and Raymond Pettibon. Of course if a Tauba Auerbach was offered I'd be very happy but given up trying.
Show us the Palladino then Neil!

For me it's quite simple. As always more Faile. More MOMO. One more Geoff Mcfetridge. One more Bast. One more Espo.
And if I get the opportunity to get my paws on Tauba I won't say no.
Agree with Amin. 2012 buyers market (well, I hope).

In what can only be explained as a nod to what I'm sure is an impending mid-life crisis I'm planning on spending 3 months driving around the US so won't be buying anything whatsoever. Will more likely be selling all my worldly goods to try to pay for it!!!

Well 2012 should start off with a bang. My Joe Sorren commission is in the final stages and should be headed my way soon. That was my primary focus during 2011 so last year was fairly quiet on my end. I have my sights set on a number of artists both established and emerging but purchases will depend on finding the right works. Excited to see where this year leads us.

Droow2 Me and my wife looked at heading out of the country for a year but our lives have taken a different course, it was an exciting time for us while we were planning, enjoy it, the memories you will have longer then your art.

Creating a benchmark for myself:
Hernan Bas (may not be realistic for demand and financial reasons-- can anyone help?) Angel Ortero Adrian Ghenie
Hem, Wackers, Palladino, Shaw
Kanevsky?
Remodel my kitchen. Hoard and wait for the Euro to collapse? This last is probably where I end up...

plans:
bathroom remodel kitchen remodel
brian adam douglas dabs and myla brian viveros
*1 out of the above 3 would be wonderful
-a couple of smaller pieces from lesser known artists priced under 1k (to buy out of pure enjoyment)
- I'm always on the lookout for any new different medium Shepard piece that I could add to the collection.
-any great deals from established artists.
