Have a biz trip coming up to NY and may have a little time to check out some galleries. Other than Jonathan Levine and Joshua Liner any suggestions as to which other galleries are worth checking out? Many thanks

Give me a few more variables and I can give you a list of what is interesting right now.
When exactly will you be in and how much time will you have? Where in NYC will you be based out of?
Why I ask is that another show switch over will be coming up fairly soon and the time/location will determine if I point you toward just Chelsea or Chelsea/Lower East Side/Midtown/Uptown.

In NY now until Wednesday - so not long. Staying midtown. Anything related to grafitti or 'pop surrealism' etc would be of interest. Also if there are any good places for contemporary furniture. Many thanks. Forgot how cool this city is.

Okay, starting with contemporary furniture, Moss is closing its doors soon and is a must hit. It's at 150 Greene Street in Soho. You would have had the Droog Design store as well, but it closed.
Chelsea galleries are closed on Monday. Hit MoMA instead which is open on Monday until 5:30. In addition to being the greatest modern/contemporary museum on Earth, right now the 2nd floor contemporary gallery is showing a huge Haring which may be to your liking.
In Chelsea, given your tastes and what's out and should be seen, I would recommend:
Joshua Liner at 548 West 28th 'In Living Color' group exhibition at FLAG Art Foundation 545 West 25th 9th Floor(features a large Dan Colen, a late Cy Twombly, a large Richter, etc.) 'Blind Cut' group exhibition at Marlborough Chelsea 545 West 25th(has a Lazzarini, a Mark Flood, etc.) Dubuffet 'The Last Two Years' at Pace Gallery 510 West 25th(see where Basquiat got a lot of influence from) Damien Hirst at Gagosian 555 West 24th(I think this show absolutely sucks, but it is a must-see) Joyce Pensato at Friedrich Petzel Gallery 537 West 22nd(great show from a true Brooklyn art legend, perhaps the greatest artist everyone should know but do not) Damien Hirst at Gagosian 522 West 21st(Again, I think this is horrible but still has to be seen) Levine at 529 West 20th Sergej Jensen at Anton Kern Gallery 532 West 20th(perhaps not your style, but a great show of a very interesting artist) On Kawara at Zwirner Gallery 533 West 19th & 525 West 19th(classic retrospective) Doug Wheeler at Zwirner Gallery 519 19th(an experience you probably need)

Oh, and add
Tony Shafrazi Gallery 544 West 26th
Doesn't have a proper show on at the moment, which usually means a beautiful space full of Basquiat, Haring, Scharf, few Warhols, maybe a Francis Bacon if lucky.

No problem at all, I hope you enjoy your time in NYC.
Funny that someone decide it was worth a smite. Lol, gotta love forums. Though it has been sad to see so many knowledgeable members take off over the years.

Belated thanks to Mose for helping make the few spare hours I had in NY go a long way. Better than any City guide I have picked up!
