i don't know how many folks browse this particular section of the board and i'm tempted to put this somewhere a little more high profile, but i'll stick it here because it's probably where it belongs:
this thread is an appreciation thread for the wonderful acts of kindness and friendship that we all know is going on behind the scenes on this board and in this great community.
(don't forget to give folks karma points! ;D)
I'll start with Tom (virtu) - all i can say is that he's a wondeful individual with a real heart for artwork, collecting and collectors. He has kindly helped me out on more than one occasion and i can't begin to thank him enough.
I'll follow up with Jim (jimandtara) - an experienced and amazing collector who's friendship has meant a lot to me. (love ya Jim! and Tara! ;D)

My appprecations go to :
Charity and Angie for helping me 'redirect' my purchases. Been big help, otherwise I would not have manage to collect many Amy's releases.
Yolao and Sleep for the London meetup, that was good fun. Particularly when I never expected to have the chance to see some original paintings up-close.
Ally for helping me out with the Benny & Redbirds back at BMG.
And I've got the utmost respects for some fellow collectors here and at flickr though we've not spoken much, for their collection, humbleness and modesty - riterdere, coffeekid, fuzen, svenman, DX_Psycho, etc. etc. etc. I am certain there are many more whom I have not gotten acquainted yet.
Of course, I've got a list of artists to mention too.

First off - thanks to the moderators, Hung et al for creating this place of respite to discuss one of my true passions. Its a nice break from the rat race! I only wish we all lived near one another so we could hang out and REALLY share each others collections I echo nick on one note - big thanks to Ally for going out of her way at BMG last year, hooking me up with an awesome B'day gift (a sketched Vintage Benny - that turns out is as rare as hens teeth now) Have to throw an artist member in here too - Travis Louie! A totally down to earth, friendly person who really cares about his work. and a gallery owner - Kirsten from Roq la Rue. You will not find a nicer, more accommodating gallery owner out there! and we've bought from many! and last but certainly not least! We love you too Charity! I mean that - a true friend. One of the nicest and genuinely caring people you could meet. Thats besides what everyone else already knows - a passionate collector that buys art from the right place, her heart! and it shows in her collection. jIm

Well first amazing thread. i guess I have to thank Hung for inviting me to this board, and a second thanks to him for giving us all an amazing place to talk and share about art. I also have to thank him for the amount of new artists he has introduced me to and not a thank you regarding the smaller bank account becuase of that.
Oli is being thanked here and not on the other board I met him on, Oli is being thanked for selling me my first Fontana piece and doing so with a great deal of patients. I had a screwed up payupal issue and Oli could not have been more understanding, it took me two weeks to work the issue out and Oli was not only not worried about it, but I think the bigges roblem was the amount of apologies I gave.
I would also like to thank all those who post information, while all my posts comes as replies or selfish personal questions there is a small number of people who post on regular information about upcoming shows, where to buy things, and artists I have never heard of and I would like to thank them for that.
Finally everyone is thanked for keeping this board running with info and not letting it ddie aa slow death like other boards we all have loved, while I only have been reall collecting art for a small time and my collecion pales in comparrision to 90 percent of this board everyone here has made me feel welcomed and I really appreciate that.
great thread and thanks for starting it.

I know this thread is a little old, but I had to share my appreciation for member, insomniac.
Massive thanks for going such a long way for getting me such a lovely piece (will post pictures once it´s here) and going even further as slight problems appeared after it was purchased.
I can not say how grateful I am for persons across the pond being willing to help a Europe based member out. Sometimes the help and magnanimity of such persons is my only chance of getting particular pieces and insomniac did something extraordinary to help me out with this one.
Thanks, T.
