Thanks for the kind words, the lot of artists deserves them all. Their mind's eyes and ability to translate those images into a tangible form always impresses me.
I appreciate the mention of Christina Empedocles, especially. While I'm mostly drawn to her animal works, they're all rendered stunningly.
That Ryden is great image, and it's pretty amazing how much those prints look like a true drawing.

That Nguyen piece is stunning as well. I had tried to get it but it was already spoken for by the time I sent the email. Glad to see it went to a good home

She has a new show at Thinkspace very soon... There should be some stunners. She's amazingly talented, and so young. I can't wait to see how her work unfolds!
There's a print edition of this piece, but if you can afford her original work - it's well worth bringing home!

Me too, they deserve the kind words - thanks for sharing them. Femke's work is magic. I'm really looking forward to seeing her show at the end of the year.
I really dig Lindsey Carr's work, but have been turned off by the prominent text in some of the pieces she's done since I brought that one home. Her technical skills are great, and I think her mind's eye lends a unique voice to her work, but some of the lettering silently screams "Audubon". I'm looking forward to seeing more awesome imagery by her, though!
Shag is, was, and probably will for a lot longer. I'm thrilled to see him returning to his hi-fi swingin' roots..

That was the first "teaser" image several months away from the show. I reached out to Andrew a couple minutes after he posted it. He's pretty awesome to work with, definitely one of the good ones. I've been talking with him already about Tran's show that's coming up right away - I hope you guys are, too. It looks like it'll be a great one! That Nguyen piece is stunning as well. That frame on the Kawasaki really makes it pop. It brings out the golden warmth in the wood and Audry's enhancement of it with the pink wash.
Also have to say I really like that Townsend matchbook, especially the close ups. It's great how you can see the thick paint and brushstrokes of it while still maintaining its photorealistic elements. And wow he sure nailed the sense of a cheap/shabby printing process, which enhances its nostalgic retro because printing processes have generally improved since the period during which this matchbook would've been contemporary.
