I bought a Mark Ryden signed cover on May 24th and still have not received it. I bought the singed Jeremy Geddes cover a week ago and now on their site they say the signed covers will be sent "randomly" to 50 people. My reciept for payment says signed Jeremy Geddes cover and at the time there was no mention of it being random.
Please lmk your experiences.

There's been a lot of debate about this on EB if I remember right, one guy did say he received his signed Ryden and Viveros covers yesterday though so if you're in the US you can probably expect yours soon.
I read about the stuff with the signed Geddes cover as well and that sounds dodgy as hell and pretty bait-and-switch to me. That coupled with their confusing selection menu for your covers and gelskin (?) as well as their shipping costs have turned me off entirely from their product.

I purchased the signed Ryden cover on May 25, and I received a few mails that there are delays. The last one was sent on July 13 and said they still have to receive the signed Ryden cover themselves. So far I could not find anything fishy about it, but the thing about the Geddes covers sucks. I'd be pretty pissed. If they oversold, they have to get Jeremy sign more covers, everything else is a disgrace.

They aren't a sham - but the way are constantly changing terms, edition sizes, covers, etc in order to maximize sales is super annoying.

Thanks everyone for the info. I bought the Greg Simkin's print a while back and it arrived damaged partially because of the thin tube they sent it in. So far things have not gone well but I'll report back about the covers.

I just bought a Ray Caesar signed cover. Sent an email to Laminate and got a reply within an hour or two. However, after reading this thread, I sent a follow up email asking if they actually had the signed cover I just bought and were legit. I'll report back if I hear anything. Sadly, after paying and visiting Artchival, I googled "Ray Caesar signed cover" and found a web site stating that these sold out in May. Who knows? But I won't wait 45 days (paypal clock) to raise Hell and file a dispute if something is wrong.

An update: I had an email response from Laminate waiting for me when I logged on to my computer this morning. Stated that they most certainly had the Ray Caesar cover that I bought; explained why some web sites initially reported it sold out; and vigorously defended their honor. Kind of what I was hoping to hear. I did not ask about the switch to "random" in association with the Geddes covers.
To be blunt, I'm satisfied with the answer that I received to my query. On the other hand, "I'm from Missouri" (as the expression goes). I'll hold ultimate judgement until I have my signed cover in hand and there is no shipping damage because of thin tubes (heard this happened to some buyers in the past).
Good luck to all who ordered through them. If everything turns out as advertised, a great deal.

Glad someone started this thread as I've had some misgivings myself. I ordered the signed Ryden cover on May 30th, saw that funds had been removed from my account and then waited. I heard nothing from them until I emailed at the end of June when they said that the covers were: 'currently being signed by Mark Ryden, as soon as we get the covers back the covers + signed prints shipping will start - we hope to start by the end of the Month.' Not heard anything since.

From eb:
Hi there,
Regarding:
- Ray Caesar Signed covers - it was an edition of 25 initially (which was soldout) - Ray agreed to add an extra 25 signed covers - making all the signed covers in the issue 50 each by each cover artist.
- Jeremy Geddes Signed covers - These will be now given out at random to readers which is what we have agreed with Jeremy - the readers who ordered before the change will get the signed covers
- Mark Ryden signed covers - there were unforeseen delays with the covers - mainly a postal issue - covers went missing in the post - then returned to us in the UK - we then had to re-send to have them signed - we should have an update on the shipping later this week.
Shipping delays do occur to some orders - some signed editions dont arrive on time.
Thanks
LAMINATE
Glad that they are addressing these issues.

I ordered the Amy Sol print from them and it arrived damage. Print quality wasnt great but not terrible. For a business dealing with aesthetics though, I wish they wouldn't butcher the border with their text or at least make it smaller with a more neutral font.
I've also noticed they take several days to a week to answer emails and sometimes I have to email them twice. I was offered an exchange so I have to send my print back overseas.

I also ordered the Amy Sol print for my cousin. Mine arrived quicker than I expected and it wasn't damaged, but I could see how it could be easily damaged as the tube was extremely thin.

My signed Ryden cover arrived safe and sound yesterday. I'm a happy man. The magazine is beautifully put together.

My Ray Caesar signed print was wonderfully packaged, and arrived undamaged and relatively quickly given that it had to come across the pond. It is at the framers as I write this. For the price, I am very, very pleased.

Should add that it's the Main Street, U.S.A painting which is the print. Which came as a nice surprise as I thought it was originally going to be Heaven. I'm not so keen on that Ryden body of work.

Got my Mark Ryden signed cover today, beautiful, as the entire magazine and the Allison Sommers print that I chose. I could only complain about the packaging which was pretty flimsy (but had FRAGILE! DO NOT BEND! stickers all over it - well, if you pack the stuff better in the first place, you won't need those ). From the outside it looked as if everything had been bent in a few places, but the inside was alright, to my surprise. Did everyone get theirs?

I received my Ryden cover, haven't had a chance to open it yet, the packaging is pretty flimsy so fingers crossed! Of course, with that said I still went ahead and picked up the Keyes and Handiedan signed covers today ;D

Received my two Rydens on Monday, the packaging wasn't great. The signatures were smeared on both of them, they were in a plastic sleeve, which must of adhered to the signatures. Attachments:

Maybe a mod could rename the title of this thread to Laminate News or something? Clearly they deliver the goods. The current title is a bit tacky.

They may be a little slow (not for me), and they may have issues with packaging (again, not for my Ray Caesar cover), but they are clearly not a "sham" operation.
