I don't know why but for some reason I always expect to see birds wearing helmets like that. It seems to fit them so well. I have even gotten to the point to where I'm surprised they aren't wearing helmets, it just makes sense. Another great year of ASS!

Hi Shoppiegirl, I'm happy it arrived in one piece and that you like the drawing. Thank you for the support in purchasing a piece at my latest show too, what a pleasant surprise! Cheers everyone for the nice comments! I don't know why but for some reason I always expect to see birds wearing helmets like that. It seems to fit them so well. I have even gotten to the point to where I'm surprised they aren't wearing helmets, it just makes sense. Another great year of ASS! Hellosir- I also wish birds had helmets or caps, I've always wanted that to be a reality!

Went to the post office today and picked up a huge box from my secret santa... opened it and up found this amazing sculpture made by the fair hand of Hellosir! I can't image the time it took to create. Each of the columns are colour coded by length. Looks like a wonderful geometric cityscape. Thank you Hellosir, i'm beyond impressed and thankful for the thoughtful gift. x

Sven as promised more about the piece. My art has always been made for myself and find myself believing in the traits of a gemini or twins. I often have a paradoxical aspect. Yawn I know. I constantly feel like I am doing things half correctly and half creatively. A left brained accountant or a right brained artist so to speak. I like things that are structured and look at them in more of a left brain mentality. I was always better at math and sciences yet am by far the only person in my family to have any interest in creating things. I have always loved logic puzzles and sought out to in fact make this a toy/sculpture for you and your daughter to share, creating your own games/cities. Then it dawned on me that it is how I interpreted your show at Breeze Block "notions of the architectural landscape." I'm educated as an urban planner and love seeing entire cities as art and the way they degrade just the same as we do with nature. So how does something designed and built so precisely end up leaning into the next building? or gaps at the roofline and not at ground level? Time and human error. I love this as a bit of an aging process. So I tried to recreate that with my brother-in law giving me the correct (engineer input) method of building something perfectly designed and then me the artist building it myself. As I was playing with the finished toy I decided that I liked it better as an entire cityscape and thus finalized it making it art rather than a toy. I know there is more explanation to it somewhere but these are the main points.

As for time about 7 evenings I have been working with this concept at 2d for some time so doing this was just a bit more
