Was this advertised as a Parker Ito show does anyone know? I like the idea and the paintings look great. I've never seen any his work in person and wondered if he could indeed paint - looks like he can. Interesting artist.

I've never seen any his work in person and wondered if he could indeed paint - looks like he can. Interesting artist. I don't know what promotion was done for this other than on his own social media. I do think that the work shown is connected to Parker. The multicolor roses have been showing up for some time on his FB, Instagram, Youtube and website. His first print at Limitedworks also has a similar image. He absolutely can paint and I believe he also employs/his friends work as assistants in his studio. Also some of these paintings have been credited to whom I assume are friends/+colleagues or vice versa. I don't know if they all paint under name Parker Ito or if that is the brand but I wouldn't be surprised to see them develop as this group progresses. Obviously, I'm a fan and am excited about this group of young talent and "the movement" that I feel they are achieving.

Comparing this to Stella's work from the 80s is being generous. I see different processes, concerns and decisions here. Oh, agree. I should have been more explicit and stated that they were just visually similar. I did not mean to indicate a conceptual or process kinship. Ito An example of Stella from the Waves series I notice that Cheeto Returns is an edition of 60 and Stellas wave prints are all editions of 60 so perhaps more similarities there.

Parker has updated his website with his coffee house project and to me did even better than I expected. I love the aspect of the experience narrative that makes the gallery as much as part of the exhibition as the pieces. I am not sure if the pieces are still up at Kaldi or not but to me the post on his website really expands the concept beyond what I was expecting when I first heard he was looking for a cafe to have a show. I love that this guy, so in demand, put on a show in a little coffee shop normally reserved for struggling, and student artists. I wonder if he sold them to the locals at coffee shop art prices? Either way, nice move Parker. The coffe show is really a good and brave step forward!

He's doing a takeover of Whitecube's IG to coincide with the opening of his show, should be fun to see

That video is crazy ^ HIs website has been updated, no mention of the white cube take over but another exhibition, seems he took over an entire building and installed, painted and decorated throughout. Amazing. www.parkerito.com/parkerito.com/hobo/I can't keep up with all the activity.
