First saw him at his solo show at Seattle Art Museum a few years ago. Repped by Friedman Benda Gallery in NYC. Sorry, one question. Is that real tar on those pieces? Or is it a painted effect? Looks messy as hell which is kinda cool... although might be dicey hanging dripping tar in one's home.

Yes it is real tar. Not sure how he did it but the ship piece had no dripping at all and it is very large. Some of the other ones do have wood shelves beneath them.
