Going into the US there is no import tax, but on items over $2000 or so in declared value they will frequently get hit with various customs fees, especially via Fedex or UPS . The higher the value the better to ship with a qualified private courier company. We use a LA company called "Excalibur International" to do all our shipping. Great guys, good pricing and they know what they are doing. Let me know if you want their info. They have a sister co. in the UK as well. s
