Can't find a picture of the OG but if I won the mega lottery this is the first piece I'd go after (even though I don't think it's for sale)

It must violate some sort of "Though shalt not covet thy fellow forum-members art" commandment, but I can't help it: ...I guess I'll have to be content with my little Munky King print.

That's an understandable one to covet Gary. Anyway, here's the latest object of desire Could probably add a Ryden or two to my list.

I actually know the collector that bought Vanity initially. He quickly sold it, however, within a month or two of the opening for the type of coin that I suppose couldn't be passed up. With respect to JJ, and specifically the Kindling exhibit which was my first true exposure to his work and has since proved to be some of the only work of his that resonated with me (I think I like the composed work over his more abstract pieces), Hive always had a special place in my heart. That said, I went back to that show twice in person, all the way from Philly, and was blown away by every single piece, especially Ballad..and Toy Maker, which goes without saying. A modern masterpiece, indeed. Still regret not committing to the payment plan I had worked out with Levine for Willow Horse..which was the only painting that didn't presell and was hugely impressive in person despite not really standing out as well amongst the other fine pieces during the show.

oh yes, Hive is an incredible piece. i made some inquiries after that piece some time ago, but not surprisingly, hit a brick wall. if i owned that piece i wouldnt consider parting with it either.
kindling was such an epic show... its hard to imagine an artist pulling off such a show more than once in a lifetime. james is a genuine talent though, so who knows? he certainly seems to be ever-evolving though so one thing that seems fairly certain with his work is change.
willow is such an under-rated piece. the detail, the birds - it's lovely. oh how i wish i was in the market then!

I'm surprised not to see any Simkins pieces here. I'd agree with rhythmgtr5 when talking Keys though, 'Roar I' is one of my favorites of his.

This is such a great post. Let's keep it alive. Here's my 2 picks: Glenn Barr's "Birth of Venus on Avenue B" I've always love the original "Birth of Venus" and love Barr's modern day interpretation. Everyone needs some form of "Birth of Venus" painting in their house. Buffmonster's "Happy Solitude" I love Bob Ross and Buffmonster. This seems to satisfy both

Nuoar's "Self Indulge" is a beauty. The frame enhances he piece too.
