How can a man lock his daughter into the cellar for 24 years, father 7 kids with her, and no-one has had any clue what was going on? (You probably heard the story, it is all over the news.) What must it be like to grow up in a tiny cellar and see the daylight for the first time after almost 20 years? I cannot think about anything else right now.

i feel so sorry for the children and how they will cope with life now that they have their freedom. how can anyone recover from such an ordeal?

Why do I feel the need to gamble on each and every single college basketball game during the weekends, and how come I can't pick one winner? Seems like your luck is getting better. Now will that $1300 be going toward art?

Now will that $1300 be going toward art? Unfortunately the only "hobby" that rivals my art buying is gambling. I'll probably bet and lose $1200 on some Arena Football game that's not even televised relegating me to sitting in front of my computer refreshing the ESPN AFL Scoreboard weeping.

Heres a sad one
i am thinking how hard it was today watching my grandfather cry as his wife of 68 years passed away.
On a lighter note I have been up for almost two days and am thinking how easy and hard I will finally sleep tonight.

I know this is what are you thinking non art, but wonder if it pertains to art being thrown away does it count.
I am thinking my cleaning lady 9 second time she has been to the condo ) threw away a Glenn Barr print and I can not blame her I have to blame myself. I placed it in between two pieces of cardboard and taped it closed. needless to say I had a large pile of boxes that needed to go to the trash. Not paying attention I mark a large T on the cardboard for trash ( encase there is some I want to save she will not throw away for shipping or what have you ) I must have marked a T on one of the pieces previous and then not inspected it when I was looking for something to secure the print. Come home tonight and it was taken off the counter. i called her about it and she told me it had a large T on backside ( or downside ) so she put it in the bin that crushes the cardboard at the building. For a few minutes I wondered if that was the story and called my parents who also use her and they had never a problem with her, nor my aunt and uncle so it was a mistake not to costly as it could have been the Craola drawing that arrived last week or something, all in all I have now learned to throw away my own cardboard.
Goodbye Bad betty you were m first piece of artwork i ever purchased and one of only three prints I ever owned, i thank you for helping spark my interest in art and I should have never taken you out of your frame.

I guess it could have been worse.... I have had a couple close calls myself throwing boxes away then deciding at the last minute to check inside again. Of course finding something that should not go in trash. I know someone who locks his bedroom when maid comes over LOL. Maybe not as paranoid as I think afterall.

I am so sorry for you . I always feel like the most neurotic person since I double-check every piece of paper or cardboard (and even take apart every cardboard box) that I throw away because I am always afraid this could happen. When I moved flats two weeks ago I transported all the artworks and prints and valuable books myself (I carried them the 10 minutes' walk to my new apartment since the car was broken, and I had to walk several times although my collection is not that big, it is mainly small pieces) because I was so afraid the transport company would lose a box.
