Great show all round but the Michael Page pieces are stand outs. Michael Page is just blowing me away with each new image I see of his. (Brilliant painter)

Killer show, I love the Michael Page and Dan May works. This painting by Charlie Immer, seems like it has been in quite a few shows in the past few months. What do you guys think, did the price on his work get high to fast.

It takes Immer about a month or more to finish a piece so the price seems about right. (don't forget the gallery takes a big cut) I really think Immer is another artist to watch.

I to agree know the Immer piecwe was at 1988 in some form, and I love the work but think to come out of the gate priced so high is a little off putting to some people, i may just be talking out my ass and understand a month to create a work, and gallery cut all has to be taken in, but would you not be better off building up to those prices by doing smaller works or repricing and having your larger works sell creating a more wanted work from people who may collect for money reasons, i mean to have a work in two or three shows and go unsold for the investor people it may be off putting.

Id generally agree with you Highbrow but I think Immer's work is so polished already that a 12 x 20 painting with frame for $2590 is a pretty good deal. (you might be able to barter since it was shown before)
Some artist gauge prices by time spent and don't think about pricing their art to sell immediately. I wish all original's sold at their first show but sometimes artist are asked last minute to submit a piece for a group show so they send a previously shown artwork.
Immer's 12 x 12 "Rainbow Drops" sold right out the gate at Gallery 1988's the Idiot Box Show for $1660 a few weeks ago.
