Chris will then have a show at Sloan Fine Art in NY in December, and then a show at Roq la Rue in summer 2010.
(Thanks Rizza!)

Awesome work. Amazing technique. Jaw dropping result. I'm in love too. Unfortunately will not be able to own a piece anytime soon...

and then a show at Roq la Rue in summer 2010. Due to the sheer epicness of The New Ones, I think a forest-centric show is in order. Don't you all agree? Kirsten? Ok, maybe not. But I will do very bad things for a painting in the same vein as The New Ones. Hook it up, Madam Roq La Rue! I will love you for life!! This should be a super awesome show, though. The white themed piece from Lush Life was down right sickening! The red maple leaves really make the painting pop. And that beetles and turtles rule...not to mention the carousel horsie with the Ryden-esque meat limb! So badass!!

I was just in Amsterdam last week on a layover and I stopped by Chris' studio and took pics of his new show which I will try to post later today. Very, very incredible as well as featuring his biggest canvas yet (which frankly I think is a masterpiece but you can judge yourself when you see it!)

That has got to be ENORMOUS. I can't wait for the pics Kirsten.

My three favorites are WIND, SNOW and CLOUDS. I hope a giclee will be produced for this show. Incredible! Anyonebuying a piece?

Those are probably my 3 favorites also. Or maybe life as it began. They're all amazing though. I think the only one I didn't really care for was the bride one.
Too bad they're about 10 times out of my price range. I might consider a giclee though if it was of one of my favorites.

I had the pleasure of seeing his work in person @ Jaski Gallery back in Feb. of this year. Just checked out the preview this morning. Really awesome work - in the full sense of awe - Wind, Snow, and Clouds are all fantastic as is Life as it began. I think Snow is my favorite, having lived in the extreme winters in the Adirondacks, Vermont, New Hampshire and Washington for most of my life - I don't know if I'll ever be fortunate enough to own one of Chris' works but, I am happy to have had the opportunity to see them in person.

Snow is my favorite but it's like picking a favorite rose. Each piece is unique and spectacular. Thanks for posting the preview.

Absolutely stunning show, but I wouldn't expect anything less from Chris. How he paints so many huge quality pieces will never cease to astound me.

pretty damn solid show from Mr Berens, but it looks like the aggressive pricing may finally be taking a toll on the market. The preview says there are only 3 pieces sold. It's a shame too because this is some really great work.

I think Chris has a number of more "mature" (and perhaps non-internet-focused) collectors in Amsterdam who may wish to see this very large, subtle work in person rather than purchasing it from a jpeg. I believe his market over there is a bit different than ours. We'll see.

I believe his market over there is a bit different than ours. We'll see. are you implying that people who use the internet to buy art are not mature collectors? the preview has been out for days, and I am sure the mature collectors in Amsterdam would be able to come to the gallery prior to the show to see the work if they were serious about purchasing the work, but maybe I am mistaken. Normally they have pre-previews or special vip previews for important mature collectors. After all, most shows that are of the upper echelon for clients like you are referring to are pre-sold prior to opening. I think the bottom line is that the prices are too high. They are double since the Seattle show. What has he done so great to make his prices go double? By the look of the response of sales to these prices.....not much. Like I said in my first post, it's a shame to have all that nice work go unsold.

in regards to the prices, the preview has only an "inquire" button listed. Did you guys inquire?
