sad song - buffalo tom. always brought a lump to the throat
jumping up and down - anything by jawbreaker. best band in the world. ever.
dancing in a club - more like propping up the bar...
song from my youth - the mighty snuff. the late eighties was a great time to be immersed in music.

Got the Plan B album but yet to give it a listen. This week I've been listening to, The Flaming Lips- embryonic and Mumford and Sons. Oh and a Frank Sidebottom podcast to cheer me up.

I've been passing my summer with the last Crystal Castles Album, The Sleigh Bells Record, HEALTH Disco 2 and recently the new Big Boi record. I've been really disapointed in the new M.I.A. record, I'm a big fan but I've pretty much forced myself to hear the new release 5 times and I think I dislike it more and more with each listen instead of what I was hoping with multiple listens for it to grow on me.

While spending 12 years in the entertainment field I am not a fan of music however the guy who works with me has something to do with this artist and for whatever reason I like the song.

I haven't been listening to much lately. I have a few Cirque Du Soleil soundtracks on my iPod that I listen to at work because they drown out background without being distracting. Then during my commute, I have to listen to loud stuff. After 10 or 12 hours with earbuds in my ears, I can't listen anymore.
Surprised to hear that about M.I.A. The reviews I read were favorable.

Crazyreesie: Well of course it is just my opinion at the end of the day and as I said I actually am a big fan of hers so believe me when I say if anyone is disapointed in my own statement on her album it's me!

Out of the albums you guys mentioned, standouts for me NMH - Aeroplane... and Bonnie Prince - I See a Darkness.
I have been listening a whole lot to The Tallest Man on Earth - Wild Hunt. It is really good, his old album has two or three standouts as well (The Gardner).
And... Beach House - Teen Dream; enjoyable from start to finish.
For the weekend, I guess some Crystal Castles will do... happy (almost) Friday.

I saw the Swans this week in Philly and it really renewed my enthusiasm for them...not that it ever really went away. Otherwise I'm really into Nick Cave, Einstuerzende Neubauten, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Velvet Underground, old Sonic Youth,...well you get the idea.

"The Suburbs" has really grown on me after a so-so first listen. It's amazing how differently an album can sound the second time through, especially when it's from one of your favorite groups and you had been looking forward to it's release for while yet weren't sold on the first go around. Some marginal tracks, perhaps to an extent like Funeral and Neon Bible, but some flat out genius winners as well.
Kanye's new track Runaway has been on repeat since he performed it at the VMAs a few weeks back too. The beat is powerful.

Yeah, that is a great album. I'm a huge Walkmen fan and they are always playing while I'm painting. Been listening to the Lower Dens and the new Destroyer albums a lot too. I highly recommend both.

Loving the Album, wasn't sure until my third listen. Yeah, definitely enjoy it. Nothing groundbreaking by any means. But another high quality album head and shoulders above 95% of the music produced these days. Some strong tracks for sure. Little by Little is worth the price of admission alone, with Lotus Flower and Morning Mr. Magpie being very close followups. And never really followed Donwood's work all that closely, Sven. I've always really enjoyed what I've seen. Just not too familiar with it and know his paintings are pricey. When I heard it was only going to be a set of new print releases, along with a few drawings, I didn't bother reaching out to laz.
